Well my worries were unfounded on #13 as it was right back to the gritty, twisty tale I have come to know and love - the artwork was astounding in places, this was a great read

It's a genuine shame as always provided a unique perspective and counterpoints to the general consensus often, even though I don't know Steff other than via the podcast it feels like she hasn't said goodbye in reality because she didn't say it on the show... is this canon? will it be ret-conned next year?
Hopefully she can Guest Star in future episodes - hopefully not goodbye but more Au Revoir!

I love Tocchini's art I think it simply beautiful and perfect for this story. In terms of darkness this is indeed a dark tale but its also fascinating that the crux of our heroines belief system is positivity and also the old 'wishes' trap, getting what you desire even by positive thinking doesn't guarantee a time-scale or that the independent pieces [e.g. her children] will be as you perceive them in your positive image. I think the premise is interesting and so far has balanced well with the blood-thirsty action, its worked well for me so far. This was without doubt one of if not my favorite book for some time but issue #12 left me a bit concerned on the direction the story is taking, I won't spoil but I've seen way too many post apocalyptic tales where the animal life seems to of taken this same tact and it's never worked for me. I'm still very invested in this but its a critical point in the story as I am worried that issue #12 might be the one that 'jumped the shark' - pun intended!

It's another great world-building book and I love that no matter how badass the Lazari[sp?] are they are not unkillable and that keeps the tension up at all times, the subplots and machinations are fascinating with some truly character driven agendas.

Listening to some of the noises coming out of DC and notable absences from certain female creators I do wonder if there will be further phases in rebirth otherwise it seems like they've just let talent walk. The cynic in me wonders if the next phase will just happen to be after Nightwing, Cyborg etc. fail to meet 'expectations' as bi-monthly and revert to monthly titles so they will introduce JSA and other titles, I know Johns has said JSA will happen but it deserves a big story [translation: Event?!?].
I certainly think DC are getting pitches from female creators as from those I follow on Twitter they seem to be sending multiple pitches weekly so I'd be amazed if at least a few aren't aimed in DCs direction.
P.S. I appreciated the pre-warning on the sound quality but it was fine once I adjusted some settings on my mufflers so once again thanks for a fantastic podcast all.

I enjoyed it overall, in terms of the casting, effects & action it was a fun ride.
I think the casting is spot on, I like Henry Cavill and in the right hands I think he could of been a superb superman, Affleck did a great job for me, to quote Capullo Batman should be a slab of a man, Affleck was certainly that but suffered from Hulk syndrome... he was always angry [unless you know his mums name then he chills out quickly]. I felt sorry for Eisenberg he didn't get to play Lex and it was just a fail, Gal Gadot was beautiful, classy & great when she was on screen - the smirk was a high point. It's a fine cast but...
The shame of it from a Batman perspective was that where he does kill it's unnecessary and could of easily been tweaked so he just hurts them [real bad] which he does in other places. Superman, I was hoping for some redemption, to see some of the natural goodness perhaps supported by some fine words from his mum but it was very flat for him dialogue wise.
All that aside my personal biggest issue was although I enjoyed all the easter eggs to various Batman / Superman stories it can't hide that the plot was weak and full of holes. Do Lois and Clark ever speak about stuff?
But coming full circle did I enjoy seeing TDKR live-action BvS fight, hell yeah and WW fighting, the three of them together - yup! greatest comic book movie, no chance! enjoyable comic-book action for me yeah. Hoping that Snyder isn't involved with Justice League - Yes! I don't think he gets the core of the characters and while he's involved it will always fall short for me.

I didn't love Man of Steel but there were moments I really enjoyed - I like some Snyder stuff, not so much others but you kinda know what to expect so 82% for the audience score is higher than initially expected and 35% Tomatometer much lower than I expected.
I don't think there is any chance that this turns out to be a genre defying game changer of a movie - it's gonna be rough, brutal with slightly off-model characters which will shock absolutely no-one who follows comics and movies.
Luckily other peoples feelings and enjoyment impact Zero on my personal experience so I will see it tomorrow and see how I feel afterwards - I'm looking forward to it and all I'm really interested in is how high on my Bad'ass'o'meter will Afleck's Batman score.

I see on Marvel.com [Blade appearances link] he has had his own short lived series, I'm surprised that there wasn't more buzz after the movies especially the first two.

I'm such a huge Batman fan that I just had to produce a Batman Vs Superman piece... I decided to make Superman particularly alien looking thanks to the sun behind him, well Team Batman after all...!!!

I've enthused about this on other threads already but there's never a bad time to celebrate when a comic gets it soooo right - loved this issue, think I have now read it 10+ times and after the first 5 I started to read it really slowly and just take in those pages of wonderful art!
