Hope everyone's well and looking forward to xmas [drinks!]

I'm sure if its well written the story and character will be good... just won't be Lobo to me
but I still got my Giffen / Bisley stuff from back in the day so no worries, different strokes etc.
I am curious as I haven't read it, is the new version funny? or is the book?

Anyone catching the new season?
I've come to this so late and only read a friends trade after watching just the first few episodes of season 1. But got into the last season and then marathon watched all of them up to date ready for this season.
I'm really enjoying the show, no idea if it is anywhere near the books but there have been some harsh moments which pulled me into the headspace of those characters, lots of fun.

I always loved 'For the man who has everything' by Moore & Gibbons.
Its just a great concept with the Black Mercy flower and how it affects the characters, it also made me smile that such a story is part of a superheroes giving birthday presents which in the context beautifully frames the humanity shown in their deepest desires.

I agree consistent team and Tomasi in particular weaves a good tale.
I'm a big Damian fan so was disappointed when he died as Tomasi had owned the character, Morrison may have created him and definitely set his tone but Tomasi fleshed him out and made him special.
You always felt they would bring him back albeit not quite this soon and I hope it sticks as there are still so many Damian stories to tell.

So really enjoying this so far, I read we can expect the Reverse Flash so will it be Professor Zoom or Zoom?
They are dropping a lot of hints that it is Wells, he wants to protect the Flash with clearly misguided methods [like um... murder], he knows the future so has he travelled back or just have access to info? Did he travel back to kill Barry's mum to cement this timeline so Flash will exist to stop the future crisis?
But then we do have Eddie Thawne, Barry's love rival with Iris - is he really that good a cop or is he hiding a secret? he has the right last name...
I like the fact that it might not be as obvious as we think, Wells could be Johns Zoom trying to make the Flash a better hero by challenging him. But Thawne could lose it all because of Barry and this could be the traditional jealousy / blame thing.
Lets hope they keep us guessing as I really am having fun with this show so far.
Side note: The young actor Logan Williams as Kid'Barry I think is awesome, blew me away in the last episode completely drew me into his pain, lonliness and feelings of being lost - brilliant.

Going to give this a few issues and see how things pan out... didn't love it, didn't hate it.
The art is great, I like the look of the book and the layouts - in fact the storytelling side of the artwork I thought flowed really well.
I've not been a Batgirl follower so this change has at least given them a few new readers and its really in the writers hands to get us newbs engaged and invested in this book. I did find some of the language a bit clanky and if there is a reason Babs is getting wasted and partying so hard then that will be interesting but if this is a 'well she's 21' and that's it, just doesn't fit with my [limited] exposure to Babs character.
Hell maybe she is dealing with something, who hasn't got wasted and woke up naked, limbs interlocked with a bevy of supermodels after a night of frenzied orgy'ness'ness... ...I mean we've all been there right?!?

yeah don't want to spoil, but will say this was amazing, loved every panel and i think i have already reread it 10+ times since getting it. The art is gorgeous and best of all like all great stories you are left with a million questions and no idea what is going to happen next.
Its great to see this quality of product from DC

loved Wytches and have Sex Criminals but not read it yet but was pleasantly surprised that the book I enjoyed the most was Batman.
I'm sure I am in the minority but I really didn't enjoy Zero Year just found it fell very flat and seemed like they decided it would be 12issues and padded the story to fit. Issue 35 however was fantastic, pacey and packed with action which led us to a killer last page, I think this was Snyder & Capullo enjoying themselves and this issue delivered on every front, inks & colours then took it to a whole other level.
so yeah kinda likes it a wee bit...

I hope you have done background checks on these characters...
Robert Reyer definitely sounds like a particularly suspicious individual [with good a good credit rating though... man even your name sounds like something Stan Lee would of come up with]
I'm now worried that I will be the first to feel the Wrath of the Moderator for calling Bob Robert

Meh, show seems like it isn't sure what it wants to be. Yeah that was my overwhelming feeling watching it. Overall I enjoyed it, I do like Gordon and Cobblepot think the casting there is spot on - the dynamic between Bruce and Alfred is interesting, I'm enjoying the idea that Alfred is completely lost without the Wayne's and becoming Bruce's guardian. Its also interesting to hear him talk about Master Thomas giving clear instructions in the event of their deaths, so they had planned for this, I guess great wealth they would have to have all the legal / wills etc... tied up but this was in relation to guidance for Bruce's upbringing so it was more specific than who gets what shares / inheritance. Again I like the idea that Alfred is far more than a butler to the Waynes, it is a role he plays but I suspect that he was more bodyguard / fixer in the scheme of things. The timeline seems a total mess though, the problem with what seems to be the premise is that Batman is in the world today 2014 and they have jumped back a [?] amount of years so he is 12-13ish and I always guessed Bruce was meant to be eternally 25 maybe 28 so say 15 years. But we seem to have cars from the 80s [and upwards], phones from the 90s [flip phones is da bomb!], music from the late 2000s and then there's the character ages... but I can genuinely overlook all that if they can find their feet with the direction, its fun so far but lacking in episode cliffhangers. Also Barbara seems off to me in personality but she hasn't had much screen time, they seem to be hinting that she and Montoya have had a relationship or at least done a bit of 'exploring their sexuality' together in the past...future jealousy issues for Jim to deal with later perhaps - maybe in this universe it isn't the job that splits them up! So good casting, nice feel / tine to Gotham the place but it needs to decide what it wants to be and also forgot about the blatent Easter eggs, subtlety is what is required and focus more on telling us good, clever detective stories based in this universe weaving familiar faces into them but only when relevant.

As a brit I am ashamed to admit that when this was on I kept checking it out for like an odd episode here and there and it never stuck.
But your podcast made me smile so much, you guys are infectious and there was some genuine warmth and clear enjoyment...some of it was even related to Misfits! but damn it was clearly huge fun to record, you could just tell how much you guys were enjoying yourselves and I found myself driving along with a stupid grin on my chops - Fantastic stuff.

Found this by accident and got absolutely addicted - watched the lot pretty much in 4 days, I love the concept and after 25 episodes you still know very little about how the world got the way it did. The person behind the pacing for me is a genius, I get itchy feet every episode but the story unfolds just enough each time that I was 'quick next episode... now, NOW!'.
I also like how they put in a lot of real-world reactions to such a situation with the various wall dwellers thinking they are wasting tax payers money and wasting human life on their forays outside the wall. Others worship and are inspired by them, the government and military factions with different agendas - this is what good anime is all about to me, its produced not telling you what or how to think but inviting you to make your own call.
Having just read then watched the Death Note anime and following it with AoT straight away I feel spoilt as I've loved them both - Death Note is good and I'd have no problem with a 12yr old watching it as it is more about the machinations of the main characters than it is graphic violence.
One they may enjoy but I can only recommend after watching a feature length anime movie is 'Hunter X Hunter', lots of action but only bruises and bloody noses and black eyes even though they are throwing punches that make walls explode - great fun!

The Atom... just to wind Marvel up.
Animal Man, I can only imagine the humour along with action he would deliver... I'd have him on so many properties, love his work.

Great 150th episode been listening for a few years but only just joined the website, what a great episode - loved listening to those enthused guest'podsters especially the manga section, it's what makes you great and unique everyone involved has a very clear and passionate voice and the group is stronger through the diversity and conflicting view-points.
I'd also like to agree with comments made about podcasting and your approach - it's why you are my No.1, I know I will get to hear from you weekly come what may, maybe not always everyone but TC is always represented weekly and it makes my commute and work travel something I actually look forward to catching up with you fine but woof-bark-donkey-compadres! Keep at it all
