I'm curious to see how others feel about this show. I've watched up to the most recent episode but after that mid season finale I have decided to call it quits. I know the comic and show will differ no matter what and can accept that, but I'm not into some of the changes they made. Like making Andrea such a pointless and useless character on the show when she's one of the strongest ones in the book.
The other thing for me is how the show drags, there was an image somewhere that I feel summed it up perfectly with 5 mins of a good intro, 40 mins of nothing with the final 5 being in your face cliffhanger forcing you to tune in next week. I wouldnt say I hate the show but just being a fan of the comic I find myself disappointed, especially with the last 2 seasons.

I've never read the comics but I love the show. Nothing else on tv has as much gritty realism. I have just got to the last 3 episodes of the first half of season 4 so am looking forward to seeing what the governor has in store for Rick and co. I can understand that if you have read the comics then the show may not stand up to scrutiny but this is the same as film adaptations from books. You just can't create the depth of story in a more condensed format unless you are peter jackson with The Lord of the rings trilogy!!

I try to look at an adaptation of something as a completely separate entity from its source material. That being said I think up until the last few episodes of season 4 the show was on a steady decline. I really hope it picks up in quality because its slipping IMO

I told myself that last season would be the last season I watch. But the most recent season is much much better than the prior 2 seasons. I find myself loving the show again during this season. I have a feeling that this will be the last season though.
They are bringing Abraham and (HOPEFULLY) Negan into the mix, so I'm really interested in how they put them onto the screen. They are two of my favorite characters from the book.

Just watched the last 3 episodes of this season so far. Wow what a great 3 episode story arc!! Really thought it was top drawer and I can't wait till it starts again.

I know I'm pumped. There was word on Twitter or something that they were trying to bring it back to the comic book roots.
I really hope that if they do bring in Negan that they don't censor him. I love how much he cusses and just the way he talks is awesome.

I think if I had never read the comics before, I'd love the show. As it stands...meh. I mean my parents love the show and almost everyone I know loves the show and if you do, that's fine. I'd just rather watch Arrow for my comic book adaptation needs.

All the people who rave about the show look at me like I'm crazy for not being obsessed with it.

I also liked the books better... until the last couple story arcs.
The beginning of the Comic is so dynamic and engaging. The characters feel more real and each death is traumatizing. Now that the book doesn't have any character build-up at all and is starting to repeat itself, I'm way more into the show... at least where they both are right now.

I like that the tv show is a different animal to the comics. it. would be very dull if the show just played out exactly like the books. the different choices The show runners have made have keep it fresh and interesting. at least for me.
there was a bit of a ropey period after frank darabont left, but I thought this current season finished very strongly, and I look forward to its return. and let's not forget the simple fact that there is a show about ZOMBIES on mainstream television! as someone who grew up without shows about zombies on tv, i think that's pretty darned awesome...

This last episode was brutal and the best this season!....Carol and Tyreese are great together and well that last scene between them was good. Also for a second I thought Lizzy got Judith too when they showed her hands bloodied.

Crazy episode last week! My jaw literally dropped for that whole ending. What was wrong with that girl?! I mainly watch the show for "Future Carl" because he is hardcore!

I've enjoyed most of it, and will stick it through till the end. I am a fan of the comics, although honestly I'm way behind on them right now. As soon as the show started I went in promising myself to avoid comparisons to the books as much as I could, and I've mostly been successful.
It's definitely had ups and downs, but it is consistently kicking ass in the special effects zombie makeup department, which is really enough to keep me watching through the bad times. Yes, I'm that cheap of a date. Zombies are so trendy now which means there are too many being done like shit, so I'm not going to miss some high quality Nicatero zombie work.
Most annoying characters for me thus far have been Shane and Andrea. Favorite characters so far are Daryl and Michonne, although I'm glad to see Michonne finally lightening up a bit.
