So i wanted to check peoples feelings on the book so far.
1 - New Lobo design is better than old 90's lobo lets be honest, 2 - the new supporting cast, a wee bit generic, but happy to see where is goes..
so will keep going for the arc... (and as always better than Katana, which is my bench mark)

i didn't mind the first issue, not a fan of the look still but the character has more depth then the main man character so i'm keeping an open mind and hopefully the new look will grow on me.

I'm actually a fan of the redesign, both on a purely design level, and as a parody of current societal heroes, which was what Lobo was. Anyway, I've always thought the old Lobo was a little bland in everything I read him in, and I'm a huge fan of Cullen Bunn so I can't wait to see it in trade.

Katana is the bottom of the barrel.. I have not collected anything worse. only thing that got me through the few copies I bought was the DCR Podcast guys.. but i was trying to say that if some is even slightly better then Katana, then it might be worth the read

It may end up being a decent story, but this is not 'the main man'. Lobo was a fun ballbustin' character poking fun at the times. This doesn't appear to have any of that. To each their own, I guess.

This is one of those titles that I think will need an arch to decide if I'd stick with it. Cullen Bunn maybe one of my new favorite writers. Magneto and Sinestro have been top notch, but I love those characters so there's an edge there.
Lobo I never really cared for, but this is a better Lobo than I've read in the past.
I'll give it a few more.

Haven't read it yet but downloaded the 1st 2 yesterday. I am very unfamiliar with Lobo as a character. I'll check back after I read the 1st 2.
For you Lobo fans out there is there a better Lobo run or some Lobo appearances that I should check out that get to the heart of the character?

I'm sure if its well written the story and character will be good... just won't be Lobo to me
but I still got my Giffen / Bisley stuff from back in the day so no worries, different strokes etc.
I am curious as I haven't read it, is the new version funny? or is the book?

I've read the first two issues and I'm not sold on it yet, but I'm going to stick with it through the first arc. I'm not a huge fan of sexy Lobo to be honest, I like my Lobo messy, gnarly, and deranged. Cullen Bunn is another guy who is hit or miss with me, but I usually enjoy his work more often than not, so we'll see...
