Wilds End is brilliant. Issue 5 has some beautiful panels, delightful character dialogue (realistic not arch and over scripted) and a majestic page where every panel is a reflection of the moon in the water. Beautiful, funny, dramatic and moves along at double quick time. 10/10 series. Can't wait for next months conclusion.. I fear many a death!

I'm really diggin' a higher percentage of BOOM!'s books then any other company. Deep State and Hexed from the above are great. Thomas Alsop will probably be killer in trade (I've been reading it monthly). Wild's End is an awesome mix of scifi and anthropomorphic stuff. I just read Abigail and the Snowman by Roger Landgridge and it is awesome as well. I would highly recommend it to folks concerned about a lack of all ages books and folks that like lighter fair in their comics. Lots of really groovy stuff in the pipe for later in the year, as I understand it. Picked up Thomas Alsop #8 today. I read the first 2 then decided to collect it and read all at one time...can't wait.

Adventure Time Candy Capers Mathematical Edition HC, $29.99 Amazing World Of Gumball #7 Burning Fields #1 Clive Barker's Hellraiser Bestiary #6 Dead Letters #7 Lumberjanes #10 Rocket Salvage #2 Sons Of Anarchy #17
Burning Fields and Rocket Salvage are terrific. Lumberjanes...well they get enough press lets give some love to others now (it's a good book also).

Picked up dead letters #7
Dead letters is a pull list must for me. Really enjoying this book!
Really enjoyed Rocket Salvage #1, but since it's a mini, I am trade waiting it.

Picked up dead letters #7 Dead letters is a pull list must for me. Really enjoying this book! Really enjoyed Rocket Salvage #1, but since it's a mini, I am trade waiting it. I'd totally missed Dead Letters. A quick google puts it into the comixology basket. Thing I hate about BOOM is the damm wait for the trades... Wild's End ends next month but the trade is 9 months out. Same thing happened with the excellent Six Gun Gorilla. 9 months down the line you still want the thing BUT so much else has come along to vie for the attention. They would benefit from getting it out 2-3 months after the arc / story wraps. But seriously... Wilds End.. what a blooming lovely comic.

I'll have to check out wild's End and now I may have to go back and grab Rocket Salvage #2.

Week of 1/28/14
Abigail And The Snowman #2 (Of 4) Adventure Time #36 Amazing World Of Gumball 2015 Special #1 Big Trouble In Little China #8 Clive Barker's Nightbreed #9 Evil Empire #10 Munchkin #1 Revelations TP Sleepy Hollow #4
I would definitely recommend Abigail and the Snowman. Big Trouble in Little China, Clive Barker's Nightbreed and Evil Empire are all upper stack for me. Sleppy Hollow missed me simply because I haven't been watching the show and I really wish they had published the Revelations Pen and Ink.

I'm really digin what BOOM! is trying and hoping with the #comicsforward push. Now is a time to move comics to a new better place and they want to get things moving by getting folks to talk about it.

Podcast interviews floating around from CEO Ross Richie and the #comicsforward initiative and Head Designer Scott Newman for those interested in such things.
The Fall of Cthulhu stuff is some of my earliest BOOM! I bought so I was stoked to grab it. Dawn and Escape I'm reading but not overly enthused about. Feathers, Fiction Squad, Robocop and Woods are all excellent so far.

I finally finished Thomas Alsop, it was good and I hope to see more from the "Hand of the Island". It was nice to see his growth through the book, but I wish I had more from his supporting cast. Some of them still seem veiled to me. If anyone else read it let me know what you thought. I don't want to say too much about the details of the book since a lot of people may be waiting for the trades, but if you like magic and supernatural set in the here in now, I recommend giving this a shot.

yeah cant wait for #6. this series was a great read. even though it turns out i dont like the anthropomorphic stuff that much and would have preferred human characters. but thats just personal taste
