Avengers New avengers Avengers world Mighty avengers Secret avengers Avengers assemble
That's a lot of avenging. Assemble is sadly on the way out though. Mighty is really good so far and avengers world is too. AW fits right in the hickmans other two books and this week we started to see some possible long term dots starting to connect. I don't read secret, couldn't ever get into it.
What about you guys. Do you have a favorite?

Not to mention Uncanny Avengers, Young Avengers, Avengers Arena/Undercover... I removed a lot of Avengers titles from my pull list just after Infinity ended. There's just too many to keep track of. I made an exception for Young Avengers (which I'm sure will make a return soon enough) and Avengers Arena. Looking forward to seeing how the follow up "undercover" plays out, love Kev Walker's art.

New Avengers is my favorite, but really it should be titled Illuminati lol. However, I think New Avengers is the most interesting out of the Avengers titles, and has the best team makeup.

What about you guys. Do you have a favorite? "Jo", I would say, that without question, my favorite "Avenger" is Mrs. Emma Peel, as played by Diana Rigg! (Sorry, I just had a senior moment.) I will miss the wonderful tone of Avengers Assemble; since Kelly Sue DeConnick took over, it really had the feel of the film. Of the remaining "A" titles, New Avengers is my go-to book; a fascinating cast of characters, and the usual Jonathan Hickman epic story-line. (I agree with "Cap" on the title! if it wasn't for "branding", this book has no need to be called "Avengers" anything!) I'm thrilled that Mighty Avengers is so good! Al Ewing's characterizations are spot-on for me, and after the split focus of the "tie-ins", the book is hitting a good stride. I hope the sales remain steady, as I love the street-level approach, and seeing Luke and Jessica handled so well in such major roles is especially thrilling.

Avengers is really mixed for me, but that's because there's so many titles so of course there's some good and some bad stuff. Some books i really liked though were Uncanny, Avengers Arena, Avengers Academy and what i've read of the Bendis stuff. As for Hickman's work, some i like and some of it i can't get into.

There's also Avengers AI which me and about 3 other people love. It's definitely the red-headed stepchild of the Avengers family since Arena (which was excellent) went legit. Both of Hickman's Avengers books are solid and oftentimes great. Secret has kept my interest and seems to be ending well, leaving me excited for the new volume. Assemble has been awesome since Kelly Sue took over. I didn't realize it was ending, that sucks. Mighty is off to a great start and is like a breath of fresh air in this crowd of books. Al Ewing is rapidly becoming one of my favorite writers but I won't miss Greg Land when he leaves. World has two good issues in the bag and is a nice blend of Hickman's book and Secret by Spencer. Plus more Smasher is always a good thing, she's been my favorite new character from Hickman's run. But my favorite Avengers book by far is Uncanny. With each successive issue Remender is crafting a masterpiece that not only builds on his stellar work in Uncanny X-Force but that will probably surpass it in the long run.

The only Avengers titles on my pull are:
Avengers New Avengers Avengers World
The best out of these hands down is New Avengers, since the line up and the story is VERY interesting. And I also agree that is should be called Illuminati (or at least Avengers: Illuminati if branding was so important for Marvel).

I'm reading mighty avengers and avengers AI.
I like mighty so far, it's something somewhat new and interesting, cast is a bunch if characters I don't know so it's really all new to me.
Avengers AI is funny and features pym, who is one of my favorite characters, in the lead. I also think doombot is hilarious, and look forward to his interactions every issue. I'm interested in the story but the lead antagonist is not my favorite.
I tried secret avengers and lost it after a while. It went total 180 from how it started and became a big wall of text conspiracy book, which may be nice once in a while if that's what you're actually looking for; when you start with action and off the wall concepts and switch the formula to complex conspiracy you're looking for disaster.

I like these Avengers titles as well, but a few things have prevented me from staying on board. Superiors roll in Mighty Avengers is way too big, they need to get away from SSM and focus on Luke, Jessica, and the rest of the team. This should be their book to shine, not SSM's 5th title. The main reason I started the series was to see more Blue Marvel, but he has been an afterthought in the books story.

I think we'll see less of SSM as this series goes on especially with whatever is happening with Peter's return and all that. Luke and Monica are the clear leaders and Otto doesn't play well with others (as evidenced by this week's cover). I think he's just there to sell issues. Blue Marvel has been the biggest surprise of the series for me. I know NOTHING about this character but he seems pretty awesome. Hopefully we'll see more of him going forward.

Heyo,
Great thread. I love the Avengers. Didn't really start collecting them until I got into the New Avengers(2005) run. That led to the New Avengers(2010) run. Which turned into the New Avengers (2013) run, which frankly threw me off as I wasn't expecting New Avengers(2013) to be The Illuminati. Now I love the Illuminati stuff *but* I was expecting more of the same team type Avengers as the prior two New Avengers runs were. It was kind of another ding against Marvel for me when they did that. I just can't understand why they have this seemingly constant need to mess with established things, but I digress...
Unfortunately my pull list is a bit long right now and so I'm just not comfortable adding in one of the other Avengers titles, which might give me more of what I was looking for. But I'll definitely be checking in on this thread to see how the other Avengers books are going and maybe one day I'll start up another Avengers title. So keep the information coming!

If so, you should definitely check out Mighty Avengers. Cage is the leader of that team and the book has a lot of the humor and street level feel of Bendis' run. Good stuff.
