I thought it might be fun and also useful to have a thread of stores, websites, etc that are good places to find good comics on the cheap, as well as any sales or discounts that people find.
i was out and about today and stopped by my local Tradesmart (i'm not sure how prevalent these stores are, but they are associated with Hastings.) i like going in this store because they carry new and used items, including graphic novels. i've walked out of this store on many occasions with an armload of graphics for less than twenty bucks. today i found Daredevil: Father for $3 and Batman: The Black Glove for $5. you definitely have to dig to find the good stuff, but i usually find something worth getting.
anyone else have a favorite bargain bin or discount store? Or, have you made any scores lately?

My big place is Half Price Books. It's right next door to my local comic shop so their inventory is always chock full of great deals. I've gotten entire runs of comics at HPB for next to nothing. I think the best deal I ever got there though was picking up Amazing Spider-Man #560-660 for $30 on Black Friday. It's my go to place for filling holes.

I've used in stock trades 4 times. All 4 times the books came in mint condition. It's the time you have to wait to get them. Twice it came within a week. Twice it took over three weeks. I placed an order on the 26th and it shipped on the 3rd and I'm still waiting. If you can stand to possible wait. The care they take in shipping the books and the price are pretty worth it.

This is a great idea!
It'll also be handy to notify everyone of cool deals on comixology if you spot any. They have some very good 24hr deals on there at times. I picked up Infinity Gauntlet and Fear Itself on there recently for £2.50 each!

It looks like Dark Horse Digital is having a fantasy series sale this weekend with $0.99 issues of Brian Wood's run on Conan among other titles. Also of note are $8.99 omnibuses (600+ pages each) of Carla Speed McNeil's series Finder. I've only read a bit of it, but it seems like a spawling sci-fi series and I'll probably buy at least the first volume.

It's always good to check online for little comic shows. Here in Indy we have ASH Comic shows where you can get books and trades for dirt cheap. I get lots of books the week they come out for $1. These shows happen pretty often too (usually every other month). It's really nice when you need to play catch up on some titles!

Today only, the Star Wars Omnibus Vol 1 (26 issues from the 1977 series) is on sale for $2.99 at the Dark Horse digital web store. I don't know when I'd read them (or that I have all that much desire to) but damn that's a lot of comics for 3 bucks!

In Stock Trades is the only place I order from. Books from "the big three" are usually 45% off. Shipping on orders over $50 is free. Books are packaged extremely well.
I like Amazon a lot, but I don't order books from them anymore, 'cos they don't always arrive in good condition.

I bought the first 12 issues from the sale but probably am not going to be able to read them before the sale ends. Is it worth buying more at the sale price?
