Bought the first ten issues of Unwritten, gonna buy the rest some other time. Only just read the first three but i think its good. Its basically what if Harry Potter was a real person? which i think is a pretty cool idea.

I love the Unwritten. If you grew up loving literature, it's perfect for you. The art by Gross is fantastic.

My big place is Half Price Books. It's right next door to my local comic shop so their inventory is always chock full of great deals. I've gotten entire runs of comics at HPB for next to nothing. I think the best deal I ever got there though was picking up Amazing Spider-Man #560-660 for $30 on Black Friday. It's my go to place for filling holes. Oh man i want to make a joke so bad right now, but i won't .... i'll be mature.

Half Price books is my favorite place to browse and buy tpb's. There's one near my house, and one relatively close to my work. The only time I've had any luck with floppies was when I came in the safe time one of the workers was stocking their newly acquired issues. I picked up a BUNCH of New 52 #1's and a few runs for only .50 each. I wasn't collecting at when New 52 started, so i was psyched to pick up some of them for so cheap. I also snagged Superman Unleashed 1-3 for 50% off. I also love checking out their clearance DVDs. Lots of great stuff for $1-3.

Heyo, After reading about the deals at 1/2 Price Books I figured I'd stop in and see what I could find. Now I have 2 LCS's in my area which offer tpb's at 50% off (not all their selection but older stuff) and I don't generally buy tpb's anyway, so that wasn't really an attraction for me. I thought I'd see what they had available in regular comics. Unfortunately the first thing I saw was they slapped a price tag on every book. That pretty much killed it for me. Sometimes those tags come off and leave zero residue or staining, but other times they are a royal pain and you get residue and a nice rectangular stain. I've gone that route before, if the book was in good shape in every other fashion but most of them at 1/2 Price Books were not exactly in NM condition. Ah well. I really can't complain. There are 6 comic book stores in my area so I've pretty much always got somewhere to go look. - Beau

Because the single issue sticker is on the outside of the bag and not touching the comic (at least at the one I frequent). If you're talking about the trades then yeah, I get where the frustration of the large yellow sticker comes in. Then again I never buy trades (in any capacity) so it hasn't been a problem for me but I do feel for you there. My praise begins and ends with the single issue section (and the DVDs like its already been mentioned)

Not sure if this post goes here, but I have given Comixology feedback on four different occasions. Each time I made a point that sales needed to be more frequent and bigger. My contention is that we consumer won't pay more than $.99 for a digital license to access the comics. The product isn't tangible, and for me, that should devalue it to some degree. Am I alone in this? Do many of you who buy on Comixology, actually pay full price for comics and isn't that kind of silly?

The stickers were directly on the book in the ones that were not bagged. - Beau

Then again that's just my store but yeah, putting a sticker on each individual unbagged comic seems bad. Sorry about that.

There are rarely any current/modern comics or pre-late-80s/90s. No stickers on the actual comics. If there is a price tag, its on the bag.

Comixology has marvel deals every Friday and Monday, and just started doing daily deals on the website. Not the app. Also amazons kindle comic book prices bounce around a lot. Right now volumes 1 and 3-7 of Y-the last man are $5.67 a piece. Of course the kindle panel view isn't HD and doesn't enlarge the panel to the size of the screen like comixology.

There are sales on Comixology right now for She-Hulk and a Collection sale for Captain America, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Ultimate Cap.
The Dan Slott runs on She-Hulk are wonderful, real funny stuff.Still need to read the Peter David run though. Definitely gonna read Charles Soule's She-Hulk when it comes out

I have read several posters write that Half-Priced Books is a good spot for cheaper trades. I agree, and have had luck with HPB. But, (and this plug is from an honest, sincere place) CheapTrades.com is an excellent place for trades. Up to 50% off or more sometimes. They do charge a flat $6.99 shipping regardless of size and they offer pre-orders. Read their policy on pre-orders and try to buy in bulk so the shipping fee is negligible.
I like HPB, but I don't like the pre-used feeling of the books. And a used HPB trade is generally the same price as a new CheapTrades book.
