My original thoughts would be Freya but now I wondering about Roz from the SHIELD environmental unit. Roz is my new front runner. Definitely not Asgardian, and I don't see Jane Foster in the role.

I begrudging have to admit in an open forum that I am liking the new volume of Thor, so far.

I'm enjoying the book so far, but I can't help but feel mild aggravation that we still don't know who Thor is. And it isn't one of those "it's so suspenseful, I have to keep reading" aggravations. It's a "this is distracting that I don't know" kind of aggravations. Jason Aaron's last run in Thor: God of Thunder was one of the best comics Marvel has put out in recent years, and this one, while I have faith that once that distraction is behind us and we know, it will reach that same momentum, I really wanted to hit the ground running on this one, and I just feel underwhelmed overall. Still good, Aaron is still good, Dauterman is a great artist, but I'm having trouble connecting to the new Thor as a character as far as development goes.

I'll put my neck on the line and say that we'll know who she is by the end of the first arc, maybe by issue #6. I think not knowing who it is adds to the fun, wondering who it is and where that other voice that questions what they can do comes from. I've every faith that all this will pay off!

I know you're right. Aaron has earned that trust in the long-run (as I disregard the second half of his WATXM run). It's just getting there that has me pulling my hair out. And as I get older, that resource is incredibly finite!

I think honestly its apropo. The God/ess of Thunder is a mantle and so really the wielder is secondary to the story. The whole reason super heroes have alter egos is to humanize/ground the character. In most cases that is not something I need in my 'pretending'. I don't want real life in my super heroes I can get all that by reading the daily depressing news.

I have really enjoyed the new Thor. The artwork on this book is breathtaking. I really love everyone's reaction to the fact that Thor is a girl is just really amusing. I am on issue 4 and I still haven't the slightest idea of who she could be. Her mother is out of the equation. I have heard that some people think its Jane Foster but how did she get on the moon then? But only time will tell. I hope they wrap up this story arc, the one about her identity, so we can focus more on some other aspects. Ally~

At this point, I have no idea who might be wielding the hammer, but the story and art have been so great, I'm not sure that it matters...provided it doesn't turn out to be Spider-Man's Aunt May, The Punisher, or something equally crazy!

I love the panel of Thor's list of who he thinks it could be in the newest issue. Struck me as delightfully meta. (and how great is the last name on the bottom, hah)

I'm not reading this book, but I just read the news that her identity won't be revealed until May.
