That last page blew out my mind and now I don't know what to believe in...lol I echo everyone's sentiments. I remember thinking after I read the last page that if there is a split, I would quit reading the book! Lying.

If it does it will be a major bummer. Im anxious for the story to continue but might I'll be pensive until that's settled.

Saga has seemed so positive that I never thought it would have a sad ending, but based on what I've read BKV does tend to go a little sad. However, Marko and Alana are such a good couple that I can't see this being permanent.

I laughed so hard when they revealed King Robot. Of course he'd look like that, right? Too good. And his scepter that looks a bit like a remote. Wonderfully creative stuff.
As has become the norm for this arc, there were some tough moments in the back half of this issue; wonderfully portrayed, extremely human and realistic (regardless of setting), but more than a little bit heart breaking. And you can feel in the last couple of pages the story is going to get frantic again; the pace is about to get a defibrillator-shock.
Goddamn this book; it's so freaking good, it kills me.

A friend and I were just chatting about this new issue, and we both marveled at how ridiculous this book continues to be in every possible sort of great way. The character arc for Prince Robot, and the little bit of development we got on The Brand as well in this issue, is a continuation of the phenomenal, fleshed out, nuanced, three-dimensional story telling and world (universe) building that has been a hallmark of this series since day 1. Incredible stuff, month after month. Funny, and heartbreaking, and beautiful, and socially relevant, and all the rest of the good things. It's no coincidence that Heist was essentially Kurt Vonnegut, because you can feel very Vonnegutesque fingerprints all over every aspect of the series, which is honestly the highest complement I could ever pay to any story not written by the man, himself.

I am just happy this arc ended on a positive note. That is a last page that will lead to fist-pumpin' &/or yelling "hell ya!"

I was at the Silver Snail/Black Canary cafe today and the barista and I had an argument (debate) on which Saga arc was the best. When I mentioned the last one was my favourite he said it was his least favourite because it was boring. Anybody else think this past arc was not up to par? So far the reactions I've been seeing on the Interwebs have been mostly positive!

When I mentioned the last one was my favourite he said it was his least favourite because it was boring. Anybody else think this past arc was not up to par? So far the reactions I've been seeing on the Interwebs have been mostly positive! I loved this most recent arc; it's not quite my favorite for the whole series to-date, that would be a crazy-high bar to clear (I think, maybe, volume 2 is my favorite so far), but I can't imagine anyone thinking that it was boring. I mean, it's a little more "settled" than most of the series before it; almost all of the movement and action comes from the Prince Robot IV/Robot Janitor storyline, but even though Alana/Marko/Hazel's story didn't crisscross the galaxy during this stretch, it had tons of development and was so full of real, human, affecting moments, and it would never occur to me to call it "boring". Alana in the soaps, the introduction of the dance teacher and where that went, the drug-dealing crewmember and her apparent connection to Feist's old planet, . . so much great stuff in such a short few issues. The scene in the penultimate issue (I think?) between Marko and Alana where they're going off on each other and he says, "Have you ever been high in front of our daughter" (paraphrased), goddamn, that whole scene hit me so hard. And then by the end of the arc all of our heroes and former villains and whoever are off at lightspeed once more, fleeing their various problems and maybe in more peril than ever, and it only looks like it's going to be more rollicking and crazy than ever, upcoming. I guess what i'm trying to say is that there isn't a single aspect of this entire series that I would call boring, so I dunno what barista-man was talking about.

I think the most recent arc actually had the most interesting interactions (though I did love the Heist character in the last arc) and the most personal growth for many of the characters.
