I think what a lot of this comes down to is how much you enjoy what is happening currently with Secret Wars, which appears to be a very polarizing event. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground on what is currently happening, you either love it or hate it. If you are in the camp that isn't enjoying this you are likely also to find Hickman's Avengers/New Avengers runs disappointing, because they really were so intricately tied to this current event. But with that, his run was extremely long, and reading it month to month maybe wasn't the best way to take it all in. I had to go back and read it all through from the beginning once Secret Wars started in order to fully appreciate what he did there.
And as for the current Marvel Universe,as pacino already pointed out, it is an extremely huge change, at least for the time being. Except for the lingering few series closing off their current, pre-Secret Wars stories, everything that is happening in this new and strange Battleworld setting.
As someone enjoying all of this I'm extremely curious to see how it all turns out. Nothing Marvel does will ever be as drastic and world changing as their PR/hype-machine wants to make us believe it will be, but I think when Secret Wars is all wrapped up it will give the Marvel Universe a chance to settle up on some of its more confusing continuities, and maybe give it some solid ground to stand on in order to refocus itself.

Story is king. While it gets tiring to see a continued "change everything" rhetoric being tossed around, in then end whether they change all of it or none of it doesn't matter a lick of the quality of writing and art isn't there.
We are all, myself included, often too hung up on the ebb and flow of continuity, financials, and marketing. What does it matter if we are enjoying what we are taking in? Post-Secret Wars might not blow up everything, but if you look at the progress Marvel has made over the last few years with Thor, Captain America, Kamala Kahn, etc. you will see a vastly different company than existed just 4 years ago.
This relaunch will show people who have been away how different it all is. It's like when you see an old friend for the first time since graduation and they seem totally new to you, but to someone who has lived with them all these years they barely notice that change.
If you don't like the stories or the direction of the titles then totally walk away. But I think deciding not to like something based on headlines is an easy way to miss out on great stuff that might be there.

I think it's fair to say that what Marvel are doing is working for them, too. With the company having a 40%+ share of the dollar and unit trade last month with DC being quite a way behind on around 25% it definitely seems like Marvel are hitting the right notes with the majority of comic book fans.
Whether that'll remain once Secret Wars is done, we'll have to wait and see. But it definitely looks like Marvel are the company to aim at right now.

Yes! All I needed to see was Jason Aaron's name attached to this series. I can't think of anyone better right now to handle a Doctor Strange book. Can't wait.

Don't forget the new spider-man title featuring Miles Moralas by Bendis and Pichelli. Supposedly, he will be "the" spider-man of the NuMU with Peter as a mentor... Not sure what that means for ASM, but it could be interesting. If nothing else the art will be great for this book.
Also, saw that Kelly Sue DeConnick will be leaving Captain Marvel after secret wars... I am really curious who will follow her on this title... That will be a tough gig, she basically resurrected that character.
Please for the love of all that is good let M. Bennett write one or all X-men titles, she has those characters pegged.
Times are changin!!!

Hey guys who would you like to take over the X-men after Bendis, Bachalo and Asrar are done.
My dream Team would be. Writer: Johnathan Hickmann (for at least 2 books) Artist #1: Mike Del Mundo Artist #2: Jerome Opéna
I know that´s not gonna happen but it would be my Dream team. At least for the first few issues.

Andrej, I have one that's even less likely to happen; bring back Chris Claremont as writer, and Alan Davis as artist!

It'll be written by Jeff Lemire with art by Humberto Ramos.
Colour me excited for this one!!

Well I guess I don't need to finish reading old man logan since now we know he comes out the other side. Kinda wish they wouldn't announce these thingsbefore the event is over. No suspense..

I like the cast & the creative team, but I'm not sure how I'm going to like the premise that the article referred to as "events between the x-men and the Inhumans" which will be be the basis for the book... It feels like an instant crossover right out of this huge event. I will say Lemire talked a lot about having a smaller cast in order to spotlight the characters so it sounds more promising than I'm speculating it to be.

Don't forget that the version of Old Man Logan that'll be in the new X-Men book may not necessarily be the one we're reading about in Secret Wars right now. There are multiple versions of characters at the moment so hopefully the book will still be enjoyable for you!
