I'm sure a lot of you have at the very least heard about this new digital-only book by Brian K. Vaughn and Marcos Martin. It takes place in a future where personal privacy is valued above all else due to the bursting of "the cloud" which revealed everyone's deepest, darkest secrets to the world. When people leave their homes they don superhero-like masks to protect their identities. There are no cell phones, no internet, and you can buy marijuana joints in vending machines, what a place indeed. How cool is the Dreamcoat?! This is without a doubt my favorite digital comic and one of my favorites overall, there have been five-issues released so far. The comic comes at a pay-what-you-want price, so if you're cheap, you can read it for free, just know that the comic book gods are frowning upon you. You can find it at panelsyndicate.com Who else is loving this series?

Ha, I definitely don't want the comic book gods frowning on me! I've read the first two issues and have really enjoyed it. Great concept, and love Marcos Martin's art (I enjoyed his art on Daredevil before Chris Samnee, who is obviously amazing too, took over). For me this series is another example of Brian K. Vaughn's strength at world building. Although not as far out as Saga, I think it's fascinating to look at a world with such a reactionary response to the social media age. I did pay for the first two issues, but not a lot so I may have to make up for it when I pick up the next issues.

I did enjoy the first two issues but there are so many books on my pull list that I had to drop it. I know its a shame as they kind of need us to keep them going but it just didn't hook me enough to keep on it. Loved the whole old man iPhone aspect of the society

Was there anything specific that you didn't like about it? Or at least didn't like enough to keep you reading? I was hooked after issue 1. I haven't gotten around to reading the fifth issue yet, but I plan on reading it this weekend.

I just downloaded the first issue (I didn't pay anything, but I intend to pay double for the next issue if I like it) but I haven't read it. The interview Vaughn had with CBR really made me want to read this book. I like his outlook on the PWYW (pay what you want) model.
I hope it works for him, and I really hope some other publishers will start doing that as well.

I love this series & eager for the next issue ASAP. I'm very DC/Image heavy but I have no plans on dropping Private Eye. I hope the Pay what you want model catches on at his digital storefront for other creators in the future for select special projects.

I've read it all so far and really enjoy it. I too like the PWYW model and hope that its something that catches on in the future. Good way to get great new indie titles out there.

This book is awesome. I've been reading since it started. I have paid for all of them. I paid .99 for the first one and $2.99 for all the rest. I am glad they send e-mails when the new issue becomes available. I have even thought about buying the city street print. I basically dropped east of west to pay for this one.

I saw they just released a "Volume One" that collects issues 1-5 and some of the making of stuff. Is that really necessary considering they are all pay-what-you-want? It's not necessary since there is no monetary savings involved. It doesn't really makes sense to me, the only advantage I see is that it comes as one downloaded file instead of downloading each one individually.

Well, for whatever reason they released it that way, it makes it a no-brainier for someone to try it. Even if new readers read this digital trade for free, maybe it will inspire the new readers to pay for all the following issues. Releasing it this way also makes me believe issue 6 will be appearing in the next couple of weeks to capitalize on any new readers.

Adore this book. I wish dearly that they'd come out with a print copy of it
