Boy that last scene in episode 2 was glorious Fully backed on that statement. This show, along with Gotham and the new season of Game of Thrones is on my watch list right now. 2 episodes in and it's already getting interesting, I like the gritty feel of the series, and it's a splendid TV conversion of the comics for sure.

2. Why not introduce Fisk in the first episode? He developed into probably the best villain in the MCU by the end of the show, but the first two episodes built him up to be this crazy powerful Voldemort, only to have a somewhat underwhelming reveal in the art gallery. It seemed needless, and I would have preferred to meet him in the art gallery in the first episode so he could really organically grow into the main antagonist. Although the Wesley character was great, and it's too bad he got offed because there was some really interesting dynamic between him and Fisk.I kind of have to disagree with you there. The show needed to develop the heroes first. I felt including Fisk so early on would have been completely out of place with the rest of the story. Thats one of the great things about TV. They have all the time in the world to develop every major character. I actually love that scene with Fisk in the art gallery. It showed exactly what his character is all about in such a short time. Very well written and acted scene in my opinion.

Oh I definitely agree with you about his introduction in the art gallery, I just didn't see the necessity of treating him like a boogeyman the first three episodes--"We don't say his name!" and stuff. It feels like they had an idea of what kind of villain they wanted him to be, then changed that idea and gave us the villain he was (which, BTW, he's a brilliant villain and my favorite in the MCU)

Finished it a couple of days ago. I only have one complaint, really, and it's minor, which is that I really don't love the finished costume. It's . . ok, but damn it would look so much better if it were all red. Just paint the rest of it red. Pretty please. Otherwise, this series was a grand salami on freshly toasted rye.

The show loves to play with the audience expectations. There were many instances with the characters where it looked they were going somewhere and instead they did something else entirely. Its an old Hitchcock trick, its meant to keep the audience on their toes.

I finished it just now.My original plan was to watch it all at once, but i ended up watching only one or two episodes a day because i wanted to enjoy this for as long as i could, instead of binge watching it all in one or two days. Aside from a few nitpicks i just loved this!
I liked all of the episodes, but the last three episodes were a bit less interesting than the rest of the season.Standouts for me were episodes 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10.
I loved the dark and gritty tone, and all of the cast, especially Foggy, Urich, Stick, and Fisk.
This was something i wanted for years, i couldn't help but smile a lot of times while watching it, and i'm so glad it delivered!

It feels like they had an idea of what kind of villain they wanted him to be, then changed that idea and gave us the villain he was (which, BTW, he's a brilliant villain and my favorite in the MCU) Drew Goddard wrote the first two episodes on his own, so it would make sense that there was a different feel afterwards when the writing team took over. Goddard was picked up for the Sinister Six stuff which is currently falling apart like wet cake so even though he is the showrunner for DD, it looks like the overall tone took a bit of a hit after episode 2. The Noirish aspect gets played-down, Karen becomes less damsel-like, Foggy gets a bit deeper, and they play the excellent conflicted Fisk angle. Loved it. I loved everything about the new suit too, except the clunky mask. That did cause a little disappointed exhalation but if that is the only problem with the series I'll take it on the bare chin.

Only 6 episodes in. But finally - FINALLY - Marvel have a property with a consistent and memorable score/theme. I've watched the opening credits every time. Love the music. If only the movies could be as musically consistent. I loved the Avengers theme from the first movie, don't understand why they haven't kept it. My only complaint about the show is Foggy. I find his humour really forced, cringeworthily unfunny and awkward. John Favreau will always be my Foggy. Only other disappointment is I've gotten so use to the black costume I genuinely love it. Kind of wish they didn' make the red one. Side note, why is Lara El dating Kingpin? Does Superman know about this!?

I finally finished Daredevil last night. Wow. If you can guage anything by my taste, its that DC is forever in my heart. So watching them constantly get beaten to death critically, it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth with regards to Marvel properties and their success. This has only been a recent feeling. I've always enjoyed the Marvel movies. But there's that thing of good MOVIES and good FILMS. And I think Marvel makes good movies. But for lack of a better term, WOWEE! Marvel have finally made a good FILM. And its 13 hours long. Before getting spoilery (which, for something like this I figure its a given, but I'll hide it anyway) the things I love. Charlie Cox. His voice alone. I could listen to him talk forever. His performance is all in his voice. Every time he spoke I was captivated. I can't explain it. He IS Matt Murdock and I didn't even realise you could be Matt Murdock. I never realised he had a voice as a character until this. I will read Daredevil now forever with that voice. The slow build. At first this annoyed me. But that mainly came from a film-going attitude. You expect things to happen faster, forgetting this is serialized. My only critisism is the final costume and Foggy. The reasons behind it make perfect sense, and having just a red skin-tight unitard would make zero sense in this universe. But it looks so clunky. I know that by the start of the second season time will have past and he'll no doubt have a refined version. But it just look SO super awkward and clunky when compared to the black ninja suit which was just slick and dark and worked so well. And Foggy, I just didn't like. Of this whole show, his character felt the most Marvel-movie-y. Matt bounced off him so well, so the scenes between them worked great emotionally because of Matt. But he just kept making all these jokes that were just forced one liners that killed the moment. Now spoilers. The final fight between Daredevil and Fisk left me disappointed until today having thought about it more. At the time it felt really anti-climactic. All this build up to a short punch up with pretty much no threat. Daredevil won that fight from the start. But then I realized today thats a film-going attitude. The final fight usually has moments of doubt before the final victory so the hero earns the victory. But then I realised this show was basically 12.5 episodes of Wilson Fisk winning and hurting everybody. So Matt earned that victory. He'd lost enough. Ben Urich's death!? This bothered me SO much. I'd always viewed Ben Urich as the Commissioner Gordon to Daredevils Batman. So him dying really bothered me. But, after mulling it over, it worked. And it wasn't a "Joss Whedon death", one for the sake of twists and shock. It fit the story. And gave the show stakes. Because unlike Avengers and the Marvel movies, you KNOW Ben Urich is dead and will stay dead. And man was it not only sad, but his death scene was so tense and unexpected. Both that conversation with Wilson Fisk and Karen Pages conversation with Wesley. Holy hell. I was literally on the edge of my seat and neither scene went where I expected it to. Other little side notes, I appreciate and am super excited for the references and clues hinting at her eventual Born Again storyline, as well as references to Elektra who will finally get a true-to-comics story, no doubt with flashbacks to Matts college days. And the hint at Kun Lun and Iron Fist was unexpected and got me so excited about that show. I'll always love the Ben Affleck movie, and so much of this show had moments from that movie that both worked amazing. But this is the first Marvel property I have taken seriously. And those fight scenes!!!! Glad to see something stay true to the comics

Perfect casting for the Punisher as well. I always like Jon Bernthal and thought he would be a great Punisher.
