I don't really like to use the B-word around events, but what events didn't drive you nuts?
For me the cosmic events are always the most interesting Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, The Thanos Imperative, and of course infinity Gauntlet/War/Maybe Crusade.
As for the non cosmic events I really liked Dark Reign (I know a lot probably don't and it had a dumb ending) putting a guy who's one third psychopath, one third business man, and one third goof-ball villain in charge of basically everything. I liked it because it didn't seem like just a villain in charge (eg Lex as president which is I'm sure what inspired them to do this in the first place) but a guy whose genuine desire to do good was clouded by first his psychoses and second by his inferiority complex. Plus Bullseye and Hawkeye was fun.
Civil War Wasn't bad either (aside of course from the equally bad ending), and was my impetus for getting into Cap. I mean didn't we always know Tony Stark was a bit of Neo-con?
Children's Crusade was good, though whether it counts as an event is questionable. Anything to get some young avengers.
Honorable mentions Planet Hulk, Second Coming, House of M
I have not yet read age of apocalypse, galactic storm, Onslaught Saga
Oh and I think Fear Itself was the worst event so far.

Good idea for a thread.
I'm also a big fan of the DnA Cosmic events. Other events that i liked and that i can think of right now were Spider-Island, X-Men Second Coming, Planet Hulk, World War Hulk, and Flashpoint.

I agree with the cosmic side of things making for better events. I really enjoyed Hickmans Infinity. Have to agree with Annihilation and Annihilation conquest being good, and of course the Infinity gauntlet. The only DC event I've read is the Trinity War going into Forever Evil, which was ok but nothing special. Enjoyable enough. I think DC handle there events better with the tie ins being more relevant than some of the Marvel tie ins. Worst event I've read was Age of Ultron, which was actually my introduction to Marvel and even reading it as a 'newbie' I could see it was not very good. It also reinforced my dislike of Wolverine.

If I had to do a ranking system for Marvel Events, based on a 4 Star system I would list them as follows. I'm only going as far back as Onslaught because that was really the first incarnation of "events" as they are today, but that can be a pretty subjective label. 4 Stars - Avengers Disassembled House of M Annihilation Civil War Annihilation Conquest Planet Hulk 3 Stars - Onslaught World War Hulk Secret Invasion Thanos Imperative Avengers vs X-men Infinity
2 Stars - Messiah Complex War of Kings Messiah War Siege Realm of Kings Second Coming Schism Age of Ultron Original Sin Battle of the Atom 1 Star - Heroes Reborn Fear Itself

DC's Flashpoint was amazing. I absolutely love that ending. Also really loved Final Crisis for some Grant Morrison craziness. Just finished reading Crisis on Infinite Earths a couple weeks back and that is a HUGE read but still really good. And I know Identity Crisis is divisive but its one of my favourite stories of all time. Proves that events don't need to be cosmic universe crushing punch-ups.
Oh and No Man's Land. I know its not a DC-wide event, but in terms of a Bat-Family event it was huge and so good. The only issues I had trouble with were the Azrael. But all in all a solid story with some great character moments. Specifically Spoiler and Jim Gordon. Legends of the Dark Knight 125 is my favourite single issue of all time and its a nice little epilogue to the entire story.
