There have been a couple of threads recently where the topic of European comics has come up. This may be old news to others, but I recently discovered www.humanoids.com/ when trying to find a way to read "El Nino" digitally. They have a really good catalog of translated Euro comics, some by very big names (eg. Jodorowsky, Moebius) and also have a nice policy of having a few whole issues available to read online for free each month. If anyone's interested I'll try to keep an eye on the site and let the forum know when there are new issues available. At the moment you need to be online to read comics in their webviewer unless you use their iPad app. The webviewer works well on my Android tablet (reading on a HD 7" screen) but they say there is an Android app coming this year, so offline reading should be possible for Android users soon too. This month's free online issues (until 30th September) are:
El Nino #1: Christian Perrissin (Writer) - Boro Pavlovic (Art). A fantastic action/adventure series about a woman searching for her long-lost brother. Searching for this is the reason I arrived at the site in the first place and it's very highly recommended - a good place for those interested in strong female protagonists! NB. This is a French comic series - it is not erotica, but anyone who doesn't want to be confronted by tasteful nudity should probably avoid it.
Pietrolino #1: Alexandro Jodorowsky (Writer) - Olivier Boiscommun (Art). A story of love, art and treason in Nazi occupied France, prominently featuring a well-known mime.
District 14: Season 1 #1&2: Pierre Gabus (Writer) - Romuald Reutimann (Art). An anthropomirphic murder mystery. Haven't read this yet myself.
