Issue #150: Live Listener Call In ShowPodcast StreamDownload Directly From iTunesFeedburner LinkTalking Comics is hit another milestone and that is our 150th episode. We broadcast the show live and took listener calls all evening. So, we got to discuss our favourite comics and talk to all of you amazing people. Lightning Round: Teen Dog, X-Factor #13, She-Hulk #8, Velvet TPB, Honeywest Commemorative Issue, The Empty Man, Hawkeye vs. Deadpool, Death of Wolverine, Grayson: Future End, The Names. Throughout the show, we’re joined by contributors Joey Braccino, Adam Shaw, Mara Wood, Courtney Key, Gary Chapin and Nikki Alfaro as well as by listeners James Hammond, Mike Kelly, Sammie Cassell and Kelly Herron. Books of the Week: Bandette #8, Naja, Green Arrow and Stephanie talks about Baltimore Comic Con. The Talking Comics Podcast hit a huge milestone this week with their 150th show!
Personally, I'd like to thank them all for what they've built, this is an amazing community that's fuelled my love for comics, given me an outlet to speak to like-minded people and has blessed me with many people who I'm privileged to call my friends. They've taken me under their wing and given me the confidence to do something I never thought I could and that's put words I've written on the internet for all to see. I feel pretty damn proud to see what they've built, having been listening from the start. When people like Steve, Bobby, Bob and Steph are so open and friendly, I couldn't help but become invested in TC.
CONGRATULATIONS GUYS, HERE'S TO THE NEXT 150!!
Annnnnnnnnnd… we say it on the show, but just in case you missed it, the Talking Comics crew on Twitter are: Bobby: @bobbyshortle Stephanie: hellocookieSteve: @dead_anchoress And Bob’s email is bobreyer@talkingcomicbooks.com

Congratulations on the 150th episode!
Just listened to the show, and i've gotta tell you, my day was pretty lousy but this episode really made me brighten up.I've been listening to you guys for over two years now(Bobby talked about Joey Esposito on the show, and now that i think about it, i actually started listening to the TC podcast thanks to Joey because he talked about it on his IGN comic podcast)and this had to have been one of my favourite episodes so far.I liked hearing all the listeners and contributors on the show talk about all kinds of things, you guys should do those kind of shows even more, if you ask me.
Thanks everyone, you guys rock!

So it's been a long time since I've posted anything on the forum, I've had a busy year, but I listen to the podcast every week at work. It's become an integral part of my mental health routine, and I look forward to plugging my phone in on my ride to work to start my Wednesday mornings. Someone asked you today what a favorite moment on the show has been, and I thought I'd share my favorite moment as a listener. One of the things I admire about the TC Crew is how important representation is, and Equal Rights, and the way you all refer to each other and the community around the show as your family. So event though there have been lots of good-natured and tender moments, something that really sticks out to me is Bobby's post show discussion about Ferguson a couple of weeks ago. I think he said some important things, but I also think he was right, and brave, and conscientious, and it made me proud of this little comic community to have a spokesman like Bobby speaking out against racism and abuse of power. The position you guys take on social justice and current events make me admire you a great deal, and your vocal support of kindness and equality endear you to me just as much as our mutual love of comics. I'm so glad I get to listen you every week. Keep up the wonderful work. Congratulations and good luck. I can't wait to hear another 150 episodes!

Michael, Dave and Courtney,
Thanks for all the kind words!
It's humbling to think that our little Tuesday night chin-wag has been able to generate something as special as this community of friends that has sprung up around it! I know that I speak for all of us when I say how fortunate we feel to have you good folks out there in 'Radioland' who go above-and-beyond in making us feel that what we do has had a positive impact, whether in addressing the world of comics, or simply providing a respite from the cares of the day through our ramblings and rantings.
As always, our thanks go out to all of you!
ps) Courtney, you were great on the show last night!

Do-do-do-do-do-do Wonder Woman!
It was an honor to participate in the Wonder Woman panel last summer during Women in Comics week. I would say that the reason that it was so special is the same reason that the podcast in general is special: each person brought his or her own perspective and also respected the others' views, enabling a friendly conversation in which we all learned something and also had a good time.
Keep up the great work.

Our new contributors are really doing great work, so it's been great having them share the spotlight over the last few weeks! Expect to hear more goodness from all of them as we go for #200! (Of course, that knowledge has some holes in it, as I mis-spoke this week in talking about WW I super-heroes! Phantom Eagle was a Marvel character; it was Enemy Ace who was at DC! ARRGGHHH!!!!!)

I've been so touched that the "Wonder Woman Round-table" seems to have a struck a chord with so many listeners (and now to hear it from my co-hosts!), that I'm not sure I can describe it. My thanks again to Carolyn, and to Mara, Trina Robbins and Greg Rucka, for making it all come together!

Congrats, guys and gals, on the milestone! Another excellent ep; par for the course. Courtney slayed. Well done, all around.
You guys brought up the Kelly Sue/Emma Rios episode as a highlight of your run, to-date, and I couldn't agree more. I caught onto that episode in my early days of scouting out comic-related podcasts, and that's the one that made me sit up and take notice of you guys, for which I remain grateful, as i've been hooked on the show ever since. Good times.
When Mara was talking about how she got into manga, I couldn't help but recall my own intro to it, Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad (I absolutely devoured the manga after being turned onto it by the show), which I love dearly to this day. Ah, sweet memories. Your first is always special, isn't it.

Happy 150th episode, guys! I just wanted to say thank you for loving comics so much and for sharing that love with all of us here on the forum and on the interwebs. Your passion for comics helped me really embrace my own love for the medium and that in turn, helped me accept that this is what I want to do. Now, I have my own crew of fellow comics people I meet up with at my local comic book store/cafe every Wednesday and I'm writing reviews for that LCS' website.
Hopefully this will lead to more comics/geek related stuff in the future and it's all thanks to you guys here at Talking Comics.
Also, thanks again for letting me back on the podcast! ;P
