For me it was between Afterlife With Archie, Black Widow or Quantum and Woody. But there were a ton of great books I thought Black Widow was great too. That'll definitely be added to mu pull list. Well Nathan is a good guy and I've been supporting his work since 2011 so I'll pretty much buy anything he does (including the upcoming Punisher series with Activity co-star Mitch Gerards) but yeah this book was a lot of fun to read.

For me it was between Afterlife With Archie, Black Widow or Quantum and Woody. But there were a ton of great books Afterlife With Archie gets my pick of the week by a fair way. I picked up All New Marvel . Now or whatever it was called too, surprisingly entertaining probably my second favorite this week - the Loki sequence was great. Makes me think I might have to jump on-board with Agent of Asgard. I expected Abe Sapien to be my book of the week, you may or may not of seen me praising the Mignolaverse titles around the forum, but the plot is really starting to lose me. It just feels quite a disjointed narrative, I mean its not that its hard to understand whats going on but at issue #9 it feels as though this series in going in circles some what. If you've read Abe Sapien The Drowning or The Devil Does Not Jest they just seems much better stories and character pieces. So here's hoping it picks up the pace soon or introduces some decent story points.

Everyone seems to love AWA... but I never have liked the Archie comics. I didn't think people really cared about it that much. What's so good about it?

I always wanted to read them growing up. I never really understood what the point was after I finally picked one up when I got a little bit older and started buying them. Maybe I just never got the jokes.

My Stand out books of 1/8/14 were: Black Widow 1: While I'm not as familiar with the Character as I'd like to be, I think this was a good introduction to her, without having the burden of a big backstory crammed into 22 pages. I'm not a huge fan of the art style, and the narrative had some flaws, but overall I enjoyed it.
All New X-Factor 1: Felt fairly Saturday Morning Cartoon to the point of almost campy, but still fun.
Actual Book of the week, was Walking Dead 119: Overall I feel the series has been lacking lately, but this was an emotionally trying issue that hit hard, and had a few really great scenes and some good character development. This issue revitalized my love of the series, and it felt like the issue we needed, compared to the last few mediocre issues.

Everyone seems to love AWA... but I never have liked the Archie comics. I didn't think people really cared about it that much. What's so good about it? It's quite simple really: Get the writer of the Evil Dead remake to team up with Francesco Francavilla to write a story in which the Archie characters are thrust into a zombie apocalypse, make it incredibly dark (serious blood and gore), disturbing and genuinely frightening at times, and then throw in a nice retro horror comic in at the end. It's NOTHING like what they've done before and it's something I will buy till the end.
