... so PLEASE read at your own risk -- seriously, do NOT spoil this movie if you can avoid it; it is fantastic, and worth experiencing for yourself -- but I HAVE to talk about this somewhere, since I haven't seen it written about anywhere else yet.

Ok, here we go.
At the very beginning of the movie, we see a young Peter Quill visiting his mother on her deathbed, in a heartwrenching scene. In the scene, however, she drops what (to me) was a thunderblow: she describes Peter's apparently-absentee father as "an angel." Later on, it is revealed that (1) an interstellar mercenary group that had been in pursuit of Quill for his substantial bounty was actually doing so at the behest OF said father, and it is subsequently revealed to both Quill (and the audience) that Quill is only "HALF-Terran." Even more tellingly, the non-Terran part of Quill is described as something "ancient" and wholly unknown, even to an organization like the Nova Corps.
All of this suggests to me that the "your father was an angel" line is meant literally, and in a bit of creative retconning, the father will be of the same race of "angels" as is Angela -- who, as you may recall, was written into the 616 universe at the end of [GASP] Age of Ultron. In her time with Marvel, she has adventured with the Guardians of the Galaxy, is currently involved with Thor and Loki, and is soon to have her own ongoing series; the pieces all fit. She could be introduced to the Cinematic Universe at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and tie in to both the Thor and Guardians movies in due time.
Thoughts? Did anyone else have a similar notion? I haven't seen Angela written about anywhere thus far in movie-related coverage -- I've looked, since I figure I CAN'T be the only one to make this connection -- but maybe people are just being really good about not giving spoilers. (And if that is the case ... WOW, did I blow it.) But I need to talk about this. The implications are too big.
