Been having a lot of Star Wars nostalgia lately, replaying thr KOTOR games, Jedi Knight and so on and picked up some of the old Jedi Tales trades from the 90's. Really enjoy them, they read alot more like fantasy than sci fi which is a lot of fun. Just wondering if there are any other great Star Wars comics worth a look. I see a lot of reviews that are amazing but seem to come from people that are more just Star Wars EU fans than comic readers in general. I didn't enjoy the first Legacy trade. The main character felt way too obvious and forced as a Han/Luke combo instead of earning it. The Brian Wood series seems to be going nowhere and just feels like filler for the sake of being a Star Wars comic rather than telling an actual story. I absolutely loved the Mara Jade: The Emperor's Hand. I keep hearing how incredible Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison is but its a hardcover and something I'm not confident in paying hardcover price for. Then of course there are the Tales trades, but its hard to pick one with them all having about 20 stories in each.
Anybody else hear read much in the Star Wars EU thats worth a look?

My recommendation is Star Wars: Dark Times. It started after the Republic series ended with Order 66 and follows a few jedi on the run. Great stories, great characters, and it doesn't really require a whole lot of previous knowledge to enjoy.
