What is your new book day ritual? Are you a Wednesday Warrior? A Weekend Wanderer? Do you keep refreshing your App of choice waiting for the New Releases to pop up?
It's always the same for me. Head out, grab coffee, head to the shop, talk and sort as the day goes by...eagerly awaiting the time that I can head home, relax, and read all the goodies of the day.

I live in Japan, so that means comics come out much later. My ritual consists with checking the Comixology app between 4:30 and 6:00PM for the new DC releases. One tip is to check the "Newly Added" or "New" tab since books kind of default into there. You won't see them on the Featured page until they add all their thumbnails and stuff. I usually read the few DC titles I pick up and then go to bed. Thursday morning train ride is when I pick up the other publishers books. Swamp Thing and Superior Spider-Man books are ones I read before any other.

Ahh Wednesdays- I start my day by sleeping in until 10 or so (since that's when my shop, Vault Of Midnight, opens) and walking down whenever I get done waking up. My shop is within walking distance so I put on the podcast and start walking. I pick up my books from my box, and depending on how many I got I usually look around for a trade to read along with them.
Then I go to the coffee shop around the corner and get a Green Earl Grey tea (I can't drink coffee cause of health reasons). I read all my books and drink tea endlessly until I have to go to work at 4. My work is across the street from said coffee shop so I read right up until it's time to go to work.
It's not a bad day, ever.

I usually get home from work about 5pm strait upstairs to the throne and lock the door shouting "I'm bursting" so I can get some peace for the first 10mins before home life kicks in. These golden minutes are used perusing the new releases and downloading ready for when the kids are in bed and the wife has dozed off on the sofa. Then it's coffee and tablet time! Bliss.

Im starting to buy everything digitally now but I still go to my local comic book stores website to check the shipping list. This usually occurs around 3 in the afternoon when I'm just tired of being at work. Then when I get home while the kids do their homework I start downloading. It's usually only a couple of books. I'm always excited to see my regulars come out but when the occasion comes up that I have no regulars that week it's even more fun.
I use the money that would be spent on regulars to discover things that I have never read. This week I bought Giant Sized X-Men. Or maybe I'll pick up a trade that I have been wanting to read. I wish (and my wife agrees) that I only bought books on Wednesday. To be honest I buys books a couple days a week. I can't help myself. I'm a digital hoarder.

Most Wednesdays, I wake up for work at 6am, cursing the day I was born. I drag myself through the morning in a daze waiting for breakfast and coffee. Then it's just about riding the day out until 4:30pm and we hit the most joyous time of the week, comic shop time!!
Normally my Wednesday haul consists of random things I want to try out and any #1s I see that catch my eye. I get the majority of my books from a friend I work with who has a Diamond account. So Wednesday is used to pick up the stuff I wasn't sure if I wanted to order from previews through him. If I like them then they go on to my standing order.
Anyhoo, once I pick my stuff up, I grab a coffee for the walk home. Once home, it's shower, make a cup of tea, settle on the sofa, open a comic and thank the day I was born.

I have a pretty cool one, I think. Me and three of the guys I work with are big comic fans (considering the fact that there are only 12 people in my company this is even cooler). Every Wednesday at lunch we head over to our LCS, hang out there for a while, and grab lunch. We've been doing this for two years straight, it's a really nice ritual.

At work in the morning of new release day as I'm drinking my coffee I'll download all the digital stuff im going to buy. I won't read any of it until much later unless....it's TWD. Why that one? I have no idea. It's not even my favorite series. It's just a little tease for later. After work I I swing by my local shop, pick up the rest. Go home and get my son ready for bed. After that I can finally sit down with a snack in my east chair and dig in. It's the best hour of the week!

I live in Kuwait so the only way to buy comics is digitally. Thank God for the comixology app. My ritual starts early Wednesday morning. After buying them, I get myself a hot cup of coffee, settle in my lazy chair and read comics.

I don't have a comic book shop close to me so I order online from Midtown Comics. My ritual starts Saturday night. I sit down in my garage and fire up the vaporizer and read the first book while it warms up. Once I'm fully medicated I go up to my "man cave" and read the rest. And by the next morning it was all just a vague dream....

HAHA R.W.S. I like that! Yeah for sure though, I usually have to read the previous issue before reading a new one or else I'm like "THAT HAPPENED?? WHEN??"

Usually only read new comics on a Thursday as its my day off, but I love coming back from work on wed, doing any housework and sticking some food on so then I'm free to peruse Comixology for a good long while and spend far too much money. Might read review comics that night but usually like to leave it for the coming days unless its something I'm super excited to read.

Usually edthehyena and I go pick up comics together after work then go home and read all of them. The comics are usually accompanied with beer because being an adult is great when you can enjoy comics and drink beer AT THE SAME TIME. Since I'm about 2 months behind on everything, this Wednesday will be more like edthehyena reading all the new comics while I still catch up on things that came out forever ago.
