Loved the show! Mine's quite a list! I meant to have it to you guys before the show, but something happened with my email! Well, here it goes:
Top 5 Movies: The Fellowship of the Rings:
This trilogy is my childhood, both in books and the movies. It was hard to pick which one of the movies, but ultimately, I enjoy this first one the most. It’s beautiful in storytelling and scenery, and this series has my favorite fictional character Samwise Gamgee.
The Prestige:
This was an accidental find for me as I knew nothing about the film before watching it. The tone and the gravitas of the story and not to mention the stellar cast had me sucked in for countless amount of watching. I always find something new in it and I go back and forth on which character I hate most.
Galaxy Quest:
I’m a fan of the original Star Trek series but that is a most recent development. As a kid watching this movie, I had no idea it was a spoof. I loved it. It still makes me laugh to this day and my fiancé and I quote it almost everyday.
Drive:
A fairly recent movie that surprised me with it’s tone and lack of dialogue. It’s filmography that is masterful in color and the actors are excellent in it. The scene in the elevator haunts me to this day.
Moulin Rouge!:
Another recent find that roommate insisted I should watch. I have watched this movie so many times that I have it memorized. I love the music, the tragic story and the emotional weight of everything about it. (Runner Up): Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Top 5 TV Shows:
Breaking Bad:
I fought watching this show for a long time for reasons I don’t even understand—maybe some underlying hipster-esque issue in my psyche? The descent of the character of Walter White to the darkness is something to behold and I’ve already began watching the show again.
Star Trek (The Original Series):
After I graduated high school, I found the original series on Netflix and gave it a watch. It is singlehandedly one of the best shows I have ever watched. Production value aside, each episode is big and emotional and resonant.
Boy Meets World:
If we’re going to talk about shows we grew up on, this is definitely the show I grew up on. Even to this day when I watch episodes, I am taken back to the earlier times in my life when all I ever worried about was what I was going to do for the day. Some episodes still make me cry.
Lost:
Another show I fought watching, but ultimately gave into. The characters will forever be my favorite characters in any television show, and no matter what anybody says about it’s ending, I loved that show from beginning to end.
How I Met Your Mother:
Being able to balance humor and the emotional poignancy of life is a delicate thing to handle. How I Met Your Mother handles it like it’s elementary for a scholar. The jokes, the tears, I loved this show, even up to the end. (Runner Up): Batman: The Animated Series
Top 5 Albums:
Major/Minor—Thrice:
There is just something about this album. It’s basically a grunge album that is emotional from the get go. It’s an album I can listen to at any point and never change the song. Complicated song structures and wonderful musicianship, and most of all, a lyrical feat that baffles me every time I listen to the sweet words sung.
Hello Hurricane—Switchfoot:
Switchfoot is my favorite band, no matter how mainstream that makes me seem. Their album “The Beautiful Letdown” defined my teenage years and could have very easily taken this spot. The reason I picked Hello Hurricane is because I feel this is Switchfoot at their best. Away from the major label, they stretched their talents and created an incredibly raw album that is breath taking emotional.
Define the Great Line—Underoath:
From the first riff to the instrumental track to the final epic finisher, this album takes you on a journey of struggle and rising to the occasion—and it’s in your face to tell you about it. Instrumentally masterful and vocals that rip through my soul the way I figure they ripped through their vocal cords.
The Reckoning—NEEDTOBREATHE:
I’m a sucker for the acoustic guitar—I play and write songs myself—and this album, of course, is not an acoustic album but it’s definitely a lead instrument. The melodies and the emotional resonance of the lead’s voice as he sings of life and love takes me to places I’m both comfortable and uncomfortable. Not to mention the song “White Fences” almost forces me into a thrashing native dance.
The End Is Not the End—House of Heroes:
Catchy tunes, incredible harmonies and tricky song structures and honest lyrics keeps the record in my mind all the time. A beast of an album with 17 tracks, it’s a journey into the world of the military during Vietnam and the World Wars, and most of all, the struggle to live, love and survive. (Runner Up): Waves—Moving Mountains

Great podcast guys! You should do lists more often in my opinion, really entertaining to listen to.
As for my list, i will only do a top 5 TV show list because i already posted my top 5 albums in that thread and other than super hero movies, the Tarantino movies, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Forrest Gump i'm not really a movie guy.
Top 5 TV Shows
5. X-Men the Animated Series - I loved almost all of the 90s animated super hero shows but i loved this one the most. The characters, the storylines, everything. And its the main reason for my love of superheroes and one of the reasons to start reading comic books.
4. Angel - I'm also a huge fan of Buffy, but i always seemed to like this show a little bit more.
And like you guys i will also do my top 3 pretty quick because i'm out of time.
3. Doctor Who
