I think it's about time I get on this show and talk games. Would inter-podcast relations break some unwritten Talking Comics rule?

Melissa,
It would certainly be an honor to appear with The Missfits!
(...although I'll always think of you ladies as the "Birds of Prey"!)

I enjoyed Watch_Dogs for the first five or so hours, but my biggest complaint would have to be the non-stop barrage of things to do. The game doesn't dole out the side missions, mini games, or exploration in chunks. Pretty much right from the get go you have this whole giant map to play in, and it was really easy to completely forget there was a story. My other issue is all of the free money! Weeeeee! When you can steal money at every turn, buying all of the biggest, baddest guns and fastest cars doesn't seem as much fun. You don't have to save up or strategize. It's weird to complain about too much wealth and freedom in a game, but usually you don't have this much power until the end of an open world game.
The worst part is that I pre-ordered this game in June 2013, so I waited and waited and waited, and it doesn't really measure up to all of my hopes and dreams and wishes.
Oh well, still fun though!

Awesome! I'll get in touch and see what topics you have coming up that I might be able to contribute to. More games, more games!

Going through the back catalog of podcasts since I discovered the show and just finished this one. Rob mentioned No One Lives Forever as sounding similar to Wolfenstein. Having played both, I don't necessarily agree with him. Wolfenstein is much more straight forward action. NOLF has a lot more humor and incorporates gadgets in a Bond-style of game. That said, I wanted to post this to say NOLF was actually ported to the PS2. I didn't play it on that system, so I have no idea how good it is, but the game on PC was EXCELLENT (Rob was right about that).

Oh.. and YES! Earth Defense Force 2017 is AWESOME fun with a friend. Rob nailed this one. Split-screen games like this make me sad when I think how split-screen is becoming less and less popular. Play with friend.. not alone. I love how epic the battles are in this game. So much fun my friend and I went back to play Global Defense Force on the PS2.
