It’s time to play the music, it’s time to light the lights. It’s time to talk all about The Muppets on The Missfits show tonight! That’s right… we’re talking Muppets this week on the podcast and not just Muppet Muppets, but a big general Muppetapalooza including other stuff like The Dark Crystal, Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth and more. We’re joined by a very special guest… a guest that picked this very topic and that is Rat Queens writer extraordinaire, Kurtis Wiebe. At the beginning of the show, we said that we wouldn’t be doing recommendations or anything, but that was a lie. After we say our farewells to Kurtis, we hop back on the podcast and each share one of our favourite things that we’ve been enjoying since the last time we did the show. Make sure you stay tuned in for that. If you want to do your Missfits homework for our next show, we’ll be back on June 16 talking about the Bioshock video games… HECK YEAH! Please make sure you’re subscribing to our new feeds as we’re not just a part of the Talking Comics feed and iTunes subscription anymore. Your support means a lot to us and we can’t wait to see all of you wonderful people on our subscribers feed. Another great episode(maybe even my favourite!)
I really liked some of the older Muppet movies and i love that Bohemian Rhapsody clip with the Muppets that's up on Youtube but other than that i don't know much about it. I am however a fan of Kurtis Wiebe, he sounds like an awesome guy and he's one of the best writers right now in my opinion(Rat Queens FTW!!!)
Keep up the good work and i hope there are more awesome guests to come!

Big muppets fan, here. I agree that the Muppet Christmas Carol is the best Christmas Carol out there ... give Dickens his due, but it took Henson to come up with the Gonzo/Rizzo duo.
Thanks, Gary

Listened to the latest episode at the gym today and it keeps getting better. Kurtis Wiebe was a really fun/interesting guest and the Muppets talk was great. Technically, the volume level was improved, which is much appreciated by this fan. Mr Wiebe even called me a "Muppet Hipster", which I'll take. Those first season SNL Muppet Land of Gorch sketches are seriously demented and worth checking out. Definitely falls into the "Dark Muppets" category. Too bad Henson and Oz weren't more involved with the writing, though at least they did the performing. One favorite thing of mine that was Muppet-related that I totally forgot about and which was no one else mentioned, was the TV series Farscape. That was after Jim Henson's time, but Brian Henson was a producer. Innovative use of puppets, including one of the regular characters. I loved that show.

I keep meaning to check it out but it's a forever battle where I'm trying to find time for all the things I want to watch and see and do. I hear they might be making a movie though!

One of my favourite recent Muppet moments is this Ben Folds Five video. What's not to like about Ben Folds and Fraggle rock?
