Massive kudos to hellocookie for talking about the Royals: Masters Of War book on the latest Talking Comics podcast. Glad that you enjoyed the book. I wasn't aware that the writer was the guy that did the Miss Fury book (which was not a great introduction to the character), so it was great to hear a perspective from a similar situation.

I really liked Royals too. As a contained 6 issue mini-series I think this could be really cool. I'm excited to see where this thing goes.

I'm on board for Royals as well, whilst the idea is quite similar to Uber I like the European Royal family bloodline take on things.

Thanks muchly! I really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Well, not that I didn't think I would enjoy it, but just that I didn't realize what it was until I stumbled across the single issue. I hope that it keeps being a really interesting story. I'm definitely going to follow it.

The more I think about it and re-thumb threw the pages of Royals the more I like it. It raises some serious questions about morality. If given special talents shouldn't you use those talents to help others? But at what cost? This is really good stuff.

I decided to do a re-read of my Lucifer TPBs for the first time in a few years. I'm just up to A Dalliance with the Damned right now, but holy crap, this series is just as amazing as I remember. It remains tied with Sandman as my favorite comic series of all-time. I saw that Vertigo has come out with some repackaged Lucifer TPBs, although my shop said they didn't have any additional content, so I'll stick with the ones I have. Anyway, if you never checked out this series and like villains/antiheroes and plenty of mythology, definitely give it a go.

What do you guys think about the Vertigo announcements made at NYCC? Im going to at least try Simones and Seeley's new titles, they both sound pretty cool.

Recently got the Deluxe edition Book 1 of 100 Bullets for my birthday, which has the first nineteen issues, i think. I am now halfway through and i'm really enjoying it!Really digging the dark and gritty story, the art took a little getting used to, but i'm really liking it now. I'm really glad i discovered this series, and i definitely want to read it all!
Speaking of Vertigo, i'm almost done with the Wake.Three more issues to go!

Finished reading Y the Last Man this week.Great read that was over before i knew it.Not my favourite BKV book though, think that has to be Saga.
Next Vertigo book i want to read all of is Preacher, hope i can finish it before the TV series, which i'm very excited about.

Due to my already strained pull list I really don't tend to pick up Vertigo series in issue format and instead wait for trades. However I have just added Sheriff of Babylon to my monthly pull list, I have really been loving the work Tom King has been doing recently on his other books, so I cannot wait to read this as Tom will be able to bring a level of authenticity to the subject matter due to his own history.

I hear Lucifer is coming back? Can anyone confirm this?? If so, HECK YEAH! I try and pick up all the vertigo titles that i can. Buying the trade does nothing to help any of them stay around, so lets support these books and keep them coming. Vertigo is in pretty dire need of sales, so i hope that people that wait for trades will start buying the singles more and more. We all know that is how a book stays around, not jsut buying the trade. Hey, buy both, buy the digital as-well.... but please grab these floppies!!!! Vertigo has been killing it for such a long time, and latley they seem to be coming into a new Renaissance, in a way.

I finally finished 100 Bullets yesterday, also read the Brother Lono mini series.
While I absolutely loved the first 20 or 30 issues, it became sort of a task to read the rest, mostly because I didn't understand what exactly was going on half of the time, or who were friends and who were enemies.Maybe that was my fault, maybe I should have read it all at once instead of a couple of issues every so often, or maybe i should have paid more attention when I was reading, but I had a hard time with it.Brother Lono I liked a lot though, not too long, and a pretty straightforward story.
