What's with all the silent panels? They didn't have this many back in the '70's. Get off my lawn!

I think that in a medium like comics, it's really cool when the pictures are as much a part of the story, and as important to the narrative, as text. That's what makes sequential art so unique!

I donno. Saga is great, but I can read an issue in like 12 minutes, and I'm not that fast a reader. The other day I was reading one of Chris Claremont's first X-men (Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men, Vol. 2), and I was so amazed that I was still reading the same issue after 20 minutes. I think we've lost something these days.

I dont have anything against them. The silent Batman issue released last year was probably my favorite Batman comic of 2013.

Already there. I've just read Strange Attractors too. Good, but with all the silent panels, it was shorter than I expected.
