Since a few of us seem to be reading this now I thought I'd give it its own thread. I hesitated between putting it here or in the DC forum but since there's a Vertigo thread here, this is where I decided it should live.
So...thoughts on #2? I like how this series is taking historical events and figures from our world and working them into this alternate universe. The American superhero team was hilarious and embarrassing - poor poor-man's Captain America!

Awesome series so far. I liked the idea enough to pick up #1 and I've been rewarded with both issues since, and a deciding factor was the continued quality of Vertigo books currently being thrown out to the wild.
Indeed, the wide-scope factoring the USA and Japan in to the mix and the cartoonish stereotype of every nation so far is a great set-up. Any nations that don't have a monarchy will have to make-do with a guy that can only just lift a tank.
Furthermore, I'm loving the drunken brother character who is really well written. His latest outburst bringing to light the relationship dynamic that we were all raising an eyebrow at hehe
I hope the quality continues and we're given a solid mini-series.

Just got an opportunity to read #2 and I think this is just a great story. I love they way they have taken something with historical context and have juiced it up. The concept of royalty having super powers is fresh. This is one of my favorite comics right now. I definitely think this would make a great tpb, or had it not already been put into a monthly this would have been a fantastic concept for an original graphic novel.

First two issues have been great. Introducing the Japanese royalty was a great move. I was just expecting a conflict within the European family. Really looking forward to see where this goes.

I'm really excited to give this a go. I kept hearing terrific things about it , since it's a mini though, I'm gonna wait till trade. Hopefully DC doesn't put it out, otherwise I'll be waiting a while.

Issue #3 was out this week.
I am definitely still enjoying this but the more farther along we go the more I wish this was not limited to a 7 issue series. I really think this would have been better over 12 issues. At the end of each issue I'm left feeling like I would have liked a bit more development of the characters, the history, and so on. Such a cool and unique theme, just would have liked some larger development of it.
I would definitely recommend waiting for the trade as if you can read the whole thing at once it might not be as noticeable.
