Hi, I'm Haley. I think I just posted in the wrong place. Sorry !! I'm from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My first comics were Adam Strange and the Zeta Beam. Does Anyone Remember Adam Strange Comics? Recently I read Persepolis but I'm writing more than reading. I wrote a little graphic novel, Little Porcupine Goes to the Psyche Ward, which can be viewed at /9701346
I gave my entire comics collection to a community recreational center.

Hello all!
I'm Erik from the United States. I've been a comics fanatic for the past two years and have been looking for a community of forward thinking and socially conscious comic fans willing to have level-headed discussions on the issues of the industry as well as general discussions on the beautiful medium of comicbooks. After hearing so many great things about the Talking Comics boards, I figured I'd join and hopefully meet, talk, and work with some awesome people.
Downloading and listening to the show every Wednesday morning has been a part of my ritual for the past year now and I am looking forward to being a part of the Talking Comics community.
My Top Five Ongoings as of April 2015 are:
- BPRD (Dark Horse) - The Black Hood (Dark Circle) - Imperium (Valiant) - Spider-Woman (Marvel) - They're Not Like Us (IMAGE)
When I'm not obsessing over comics, you can probably find me working towards my degree in sociology, checking out hardcore bands, or apologizing for the Orioles.
Comics forever, y'all.

We have a truly great community of friends here, and the conversations have always reflected that attitude, so you should fit in right away! ps) You have no need to apologize for the Orioles; Orioles ownership perhaps, but not the manager or players! Say, does Steve Geppi of Diamond Comics still own part of the ball-club? rrr

Erik, I know that Steve Geppi was a minority partner at one point, as a good friend in the Golden Age comics business was a frequent trading partner of Mr. Geppi's on some rare titles, and he made mention of the Orioles. It should provide all of us comics fans a reason to root for them, at least as our secondary teams!

Hello all! Figured I would give this a go, finally.
Name: Rob Where I'm From: Living in Chicago, originally from NY. How I Got Into Comics: when I was in elementary school (early 90s) I would hit up the deli next to my bus stop before it arrived. The store used to carry Marvel comics and I got into the X-Men and Spider-Man from there. How I miss the days when you could walk into a deli, candy shop, or stationery store and find that spinner rack that yelled out "Hey kids--comics!" It was through those avenues that nearly everyone who began collecting found their passion before the growth of the direct market. Ah, nostalgia... Anyway, I'm sure that you'll find lots of fine folks to chat with, share passions with, and even heartily, though politely, disagree with around here, so have fun! Bob

Always been a fan of all those superhero's and especially x-men! Last couple of months I've been working on a marketplace for comics and collectibles where fans can sell or buy collectibles. The lay-out of your marketplace site seems very user-friendly, and as a very clumsy user of computers, it was very easy to navigate. I'm sure that as you "fill up the shelves", you'll be doing great business! Best of luck!

(I definitely agree about comicus interruptus, by the way.)

Hello Gang,
I'm new to the forums (obviously) but in all fairness I joined a few weeks ago and have done some lurking since then. I started listening to the podcast a few months ago and have decided to join the conversation here.
Name: Stuart
Where I'm From: Philadelphia
How I Got Into Comics: As a kid I was really into the Spider-Man animated series from the mid 90's and started collecting some of the comics, though it didn't really catch on at the time. Then about 5 years ago after I graduated from college I ordered the Amazing Spider-Man DVD-ROM that contained every issue of Amazing through ~2005 in PDF format. From that point forward I started consuming comics at an alarming rate.
What I'm Reading: I'm reading a ton of books right now so it would be impossible to list them all. My allegiances are firmly with Marvel so some favorites there are Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman, Guardians 3000 and Uncanny Avengers. At Image I really love Copperhead and Invisible Republic which launched a couple months ago.
My Prized Geek Possession: I have a pair of dress socks that have Skulls and Crossbones on them that look like Space Invaders when flipped inside out. It's like a two for one! I also have a complete run of the first volume of Nicola Cuti and Joe Stanton's E-Man from Charlton Comics which is an all-time favorite.
I look forward to talking some comics with all of you in the future!

I was a big fan of E-man, but haven't gone through my collection in quite a while, so thanks for reminding me! When that title was in regular release, I picked up every issue to see what shenanigans Alec, Nova, and Mike Mauser were up to next--just a wonderfully inventive and fun series!

Hello Everyone.
I'm Ryan.
From: Originally from a small town in upstate NY, but have been living in NYC for the last 5 years.
How I got into comics: Always enjoyed comics, but growing up in a small town my only access to them was the magazine rack at the grocery store. Needless to say I didn't read much. Eventually got a Barnes and Nobles an hour away when I was about 16, where I was able to grab a trade or two every few months. But it wasn't until I moved to New York that I had access to real comic shops. I've kind of fallen off the deep end into the comic book pool since, with my weekly trip to the comic shop being one of my most looked forward to days of the week, despite the cost to my wallet (which is totally worth it!)
What I'm reading: I read mostly Marvel and Image stuff, with East of West, Southern Bastards, Saga, and Deadly Class as some of my current Image favorites. As far as Marvel, I read bits and pieces from every corner of the universe, but I've always leaned more heavily towards the X-Men side of the spectrum. I'll say that I am currently loving what is going on with the new Secret Wars, which has started to take over my pull list these last few weeks. Can't help but love the complete insanity that Hickman has created.
Been listening to the comics and games podcast for over a year now, and loving both. Actually made an account here last year, but never really got into the forums much. Hoping to spend a little more time here this time around and figured I'd officially introduce myself.
