Totally different idea:
Josie and the Pussycats!
You could talk about the movie, the tv show, and the comics. Or you could broaden it to Archie and Sabrina....or that could be a trilogy of shows.
I have some self interest here, I admit it! I loved the tv show as a kid and have now rewatched it with my kid and even loaded the songs on the ipod. Because of her interest, we have read some comics together--some old (50 cents in a bargain bin) and some new (trades from the library).

I mentioned this on Twitter, but I think the "Lois Lane" character -- whether actually Lois Lane, or whoever (Laurel Lance?) is cursed to play her role -- is worthy of consideration. First of all, there is this idea of the woman wet-blanket who's making things rough for "our hero" THROUGH NO FAULT OF HER OWN because she is being lied to by EVERYONE AROUND HER. Secondly is the idea that GIVEN THE KNOWLEDGE SHE HAS the Lois Lane is behaving in a rational manner asserting her own agency. Even Barbara in Gotham (who is a half Lois Lane because she know the general shape of what Gordon does) is rational in insisting on trust and openness in their relationship, as much as it causes a continent wide eye-rolling epidemic when she talks about it. "Get off his back! Woman!" you can hear being shouted across the land.
Lois Lanes (or Skyler Whites) inevitably draw the scorn of the viewers (who are in on the secret she is being lied to about), and usually are treated with contempt by the heroes who are intent on "protecting" them. Iris Allen would be in danger if she knew Barry was the Flash? What about her dad?
Steve Trevor is an interesting take on the Lois Lane (you didn't mention him much in the Wonder Woman episode), but he certainly often acts as the wet blanket. I think the Lois Lane acts as an misogynist trope (you may disagree), but does Steve Trevor disprove that (see, it happens to men, too!) or does Marston's whacko psychology stuff merely prove the point in some convoluted way.
I'd love to know what you all think,
Gary

The studio Ghibli episode has been one of my favorites since I first discovered the podcast, I think you all should take a look at another creator of amazing anime movies. Mamoru Hosoda. All the movies he has put out are of the utmost quality and I actually like his movies as a whole more than those of Miyazaki, and I openly admit that Miyazki is the master. I think it'd be great.

Oh! I've seen a TON of those movies (I just looked him up). Mara talked about Wolf Children not too long ago too... that could be great.

If I watch it while drunk I will cry.
