Just finished reading the first issue in this new mini-series from Dark Horse by Greg Rucka and Toni Fejzula. I really enjoyed it. The art is more stylized than in any Rucka penned book I've read, but it creates a creepy and off-kilter atmosphere.
In some interviews with Greg Rucka, he said that although Veil was marketed as a horror book, he saw it more as a mystery tale. I can see both elements and look forward to learning more about the protagonist and how/why she has such a violent impact on the men she encounters.
Anyone else pick this up?

I did! I liked this book too, and particularly enjoyed the artwork, which, as you said, is stylized and quite creepy. I definitely got more of a mystery vibe from it than a horror vibe (despite the bloodshed at the end), and I'm intrigued enough to pick up the next issue. I'm glad one of the employees at my comic shop recommended it to me.

I finally got a chance to read this. I am a fan of Rucka's work so I am not surprised that I liked this book a whole lot. It has such a unique feel to it and looks like nothing else on the shelf. Fejzula's art (both the pencils & colours) is amazing. It looks like he has only worked on one other comic and is more of an illustrator. I hope to see him do more sequential work in the future! And creepy is right! I am really looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.

How many issues is it?
I really enjoyed the first issue as well, quickly paced and not heavy on the exposition at all. There's a lot of mystery surrounding Veil and I'm very interested to learn more about her story.

The art was too funky for me. I see the value in it but it takes me out of the story.

Rucka did it again! I bought three issues of this book yesterday because of the Dark Horse digital sale and i was immediately hooked. The art is not for everyone but i like it, and i'm interested in the story.
So far there has not been a single book that was written by the guy that i didn't like, what a great writer!
