I don't find it unusual that Dawn isn't shocked by aliens in space. Just because she has lived in her hometown her whole life doesn't mean that she has been living in a "hole in the ground". I'm sure she watches TV, gets the news, and has the internet. I would imagine most people living on Earth 616 are pretty accustom to these types of things. I mean we have Gods like Thor, Mutants like the X-men, crazy alien invasions such as events from Secret Invasion and Infinity. I believe it's very believeable to think she is acclimated to the idea of aliens lol.

I likes the vegan joke. A friend and I were just walking about the vegans from planet vega just a few weeks ago so this was such a perfect moment for me

For instance, even if I know war is common within our world and I see it on television, magazines, etc. I would be very shocked to find myself on a battlefield. However, I didn't mind it because "Hey, it's comic books!".

For those people who haven't read the first issue of this great new series, you can now pick it up for free on the Comixology website! They are giving away a different book every day for twenty days .

I wasn't sold on this series until I got the first two issues free on FCBD. Then I fell in love with it

I just adored the latest issue. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite series every month. It definitely has echoes of Doctor Who, but not in a derivative way. The awkward family conversation with the Silver Surfer on the couch was hilarious and one of my fave comic moments of the month.

Really starting to wish I jumped onto this series. Been reading the Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos trade recently and it's so, SO good. Hopefully the local still has some issues left

This series is actually exceeding my super, super high expectations. It's just so wonderful. I love the character of Dawn. She's cool, resourceful, brave, and adorable. During the prison break scenes, I was taken with how big her heart is and how open she was to bonding with her fellow captors. And the way Allred draws her... man, oh, man. And I totally buy her not batting an eye at being transported to an alien world. She takes things as they come. Absolutely brilliant.
I've never read much of the Surfer before, but I know that he's usually presented with a completely different tone. I'm intrigued to go back and read all of his past adventures and philosophical musings.

I'm amazed at how impressed I am with this book, especially after that galactus trilogy. I can't recommend this book enough at this point, I got my podcast cohost to buy the first trade to get caught up before this must have 2nd trade hits the shelves. The humanity, heroism, and adventure really have me hoping it never ends.

I just finished all three issues. I can say with confidence that I just read one of my favorite stories of all time. It hit every note I could have wanted it too. In a perfect world the allreds would be on surfer art forever. I've said this before..... I wish Dan slott could write Spiderman this good. But I'm willing to bet that the Spiderman editing staff are a big part of the blame. If anyone doubts slott, you can point them right to this book.

Jonathan, The Silver Surfer by Dan Slott and the All-Mighty Allreds has been magnificent from the start, but their "Galactus Trilogy" took it to new heights! Here's hoping that "Secret Wars" doesn't get in the way of this wonderful series, which has a new issue due this very week!

The all mighty Allreds..... that's their name from now on lol. I liked the run from the start, it just got boring to me. It got lost in my pull list shuffle. But yesterday I got the urge to read those 3 issues because you talked so highly of it. I'm glad I did! I'm going to read it again tonight

Jonathan,
I'm so glad that my chatting about this run piqued your interest again!
I would bet that now that you've read the trilogy, a re-read of the earlier issues would put you right on the Surfer's board!

Oh yeah, I'm back on board, pun intended! My shop is so awful at getting my pull list right (even though it's only 12 books) so I will just grab them off the shelf from now on. I have a bit of surfer fever right now. I'm also gonna break out my 6 issues on fantasy masterpiece silver surfer issues right now
