We're less than a month away from the release of Titanfall for the PC (and XboxOne) and with new information and a beta released, what is everybody's thoughts? Have you seen any footage? Played the beta?
I've played it and...I like it but I'm not really sure its a $60 game. Granted there is stuff they're probably holding back since it's a beta, but it seems like its really lacking in a lot of options. For one, it's only a multiplayer game and while I'm sure there are a lot of people who can get enjoyment from that, I feel there was a missed opportunity to really build up the world or give us a reason to care about what's going on. There is some chatter here and there and some slight "plot" elements given (which really amount to "kill bad guys") but for the most part it seems like there could have been more. That said, the controls are tight, the titans have cool powers and handle well and the movement elements are novel...but I feel like it could have fared better as a $30 game instead of a full fledged $60 title. Some of the combat gets repetitive after a while and the inclusion of so many bots kinda throws me for a loop.
Those are my thoughts but I'm interested in hearing yours.

I haven't played it yet. Hoping for my beta key to come in today. I don't really mind the no single player aspect. There are games that have a single player experience only. And when those games add on a multiplayer experience it's usually not good. ( here's looking at you Bioshock 2 and tomb raider). Although there are exceptions( the last of us). I'd rather the studio take all of its time and resources and build the best experience of what the game is really meant for. How many times do we see a bland campaign from a core multiplayer title? If the new trend is to focus all your talent and creative process into what you're pitching your game as ( like titanfall and evolve) I'm all for it.
Just my two cents

Just my two cents I totally get it (though I actually liked Tomb Raider's MP...just me I know) and I hope my original message didn't come off as "I hate multiplayer games." I don't. I love games like Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike and LoadOut, which focus only on MP instead of shoehorning in a half-baked campaign mode. My problem comes with the pricing. All three of the aforementioned games are either free-to-play or $20 at most. Titanfall is being sold at $60, like any other major release. For a game who's only multiplayer, you'd think it'd be charged less than the price of Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us or Mass Effect. That was my problem.

I spent about 5 to 6 hours playing the beta over the weekend. I absolutely love this game.

I have put more time into it now (about 15 hours) and I've decided that I really do enjoy it, but I'm going to wait until the Steam sale to actually buy it.

Ya know, I've just read more info regarding the game and it IS actually looking more and more like it's worth the price. Monster bosses, varying mission types, more mechs and soldier types and "story" missions seem like its really making it worth your money. Granted I'm still probably going to wait until it's 30 dollars or on a Steam sale, but this does make it more enticing.
I think part of my hesitation is how mum the company has been about pretty much everything. They released the beta but haven't said or shown anything else besides what is already there. It took until today when a guy on Reddit discovered more of the specs that I got interested again. Usually when a company is THIS quiet, it starts to get worrisome because what you see may end up being what you get. But I'm happy to see SOME new info come out.

Ya their quietness has been whats led me to wait on a sale for now. I hope more info gets released between now and launch. But I'll most likely be using that 60 bucks to buy the new South Park game.

I'll be picking this up for PC eventually, my wallet has to recover from Reaper of Souls, Elder Scrolls and Infamous though first.
