I have heard how people who love DC have dropped most of there pull list because of the new 52 but i have come to realise that i did the exact same for marvel now!. I was a DC and started to read at marvel now and the books i was reading were ...
Fantastic Four (stopped at #6) FF (stopped at #10 but i have getting back issues since it stopped at #16) Journey into Mystery (read 4 issues) Deadpool (still reading) Red-She Hulk (read all 10 issues) Uncanny Avengers (read 1 issue) Hawkeye (still reading)
So i have dropped more than half my marvel books. I will be reading She-Hulk and Moon Knight in All-New Marvel Now however.
(also has anyone realised that hawkeye is longest running book with it's original numbering by time not issues, Ultimate Spider-Man's series stopped at issue #40 or something so that doesn't count)

It is interesting when you notice a company wide downward trend of your pull list. I myself had an opposite experience (I read 35 DC titles, now I read 4) but is interesting to see it happen with other companies. Sometimes people are drawn to certain books, sometimes they start to feel distant from certain books. It's part of being a reader.
Interesting about Hawkeye...

I was always a huge Marvel Fan... and never much of a DC Guy, but lately Marvel's books have been well... not worth my 3.99. I've been gravitating towards DC lately because the majority of their books are 2.99.
My favorite Marvel titles right now are Superior and New Avengers, Uncanny Xmen and Uncanny Avengers are pretty good too. Other than those titles... I can live without alot of what Marvel's doing.
For me it comes down too... I don't particularly care for some of the stylized art present in their books, the double shipping, and the fact that their books seem to run so close to each other with crossovers and similar titles that it feels like I need to read it all or nothing in some cases.
The one thing that does keep my attention is the Marvel unlimited app. It is truly beautiful thing. But back to my earlier point... it's hard for me to drop $3.99 two times per month on books that will be freeish in six months.

I think one thing I'm noticing is that if you started off with one company, after time you start to drift over to the other side. I'm not saying that's always the case but I was a DC guy, now I'm a Marvel guy. You were a Marvel guy, now you're moving more towards DC. I think if you stay with one thing (or majority read one thing) you kind of get a same-ol' feeling after a while. I could be wrong but that's just a theory I've had.

I personally havn't dropped a ton of Marvel books, because I tend to only read the ones that interest me. But I did drop both FF and Fantastic Four after three issues... The story was just too convoluted.

The story was just too convoluted. I didn't really have that problem with FF but I completely agree on Fantastic Four. I really gave it a shot and tried to love it but after 6 issues I had to drop it

I stuck out Fantastic Four til the end, it was ok but nothing stellar though. I've always been a Marvel guy growing up and have had a hell of a time getting into the DCU at all. My pull list is probably 45% Marvel, 45% Image, 5% DC and 5% Misc publishers.
If there's one Marvel book Ill push on anyone that I think goes unnoticed its Waid's Daredevil. That book is one of my favorite Marvel titles right now.

I dropped fantastic four, but I am sticking with everything else. So far this new wave has been good, other than x-factor.
EDIT: Drocat just reminded me with his post that I dropped secret avengers.

It's funny that you say that. I'm the opposite. I've never been interested in anything from Marvel except for X-Men. Now I'm reading Deadpool, Uncanny/All-New X-Men, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and I'm going to pick up Secret Avengers, maybe.
I have dropped all of my DC books except for Batman and Forever Evil (and some vertigo titles) though. Not that there were that many on my list to begin with.

I even gave up on Animal Man. About the X-men books, I really like the Juxtaposition of Wolverine and the X-Men and Uncanny X-men. Both features the future of the mutants, but doing it in very different ways. I wanted to hate All New X-Men, I really did. But All New grew on me, and its also very nostalgic.

We get bored with the same, and need a change up now and then. That's why we have Doc Ock as Peter, and a new Bat side-kick. I also think that a lot of the "fence hopping" may have to do with, finding a niche in another company that you don't currently read a lot of and falling down a rabbit-hole of tie ins and back story....which tends to happen when you have such an in-depth history as Marvel and DC. I'm really curious though, if DC put out a Marvel-Unlimited style service... what my pull list would look like. Would I be able to justify spending money on DC titles if I know I can read them online at a delay? It begs the question, "all things being equal, what do I choose?"

The New 52 got me back into comics (mostly because of the digital initiative from DC, so I now had access to comics again). I had always been a DC guy growing up, and was reading about 20 titles from them until about 18 months ago. What I always loved was the connected universe with the big history. I like looking up past stories that are alluded to in current ones. I guess that is why I gravitated toward Marvel. They still had so much history intact and the world felt connected (Also, why I love Valiant). DC doesn't feel that way anymore to me, and it really makes me sad... Oh and they messed with Tim Drake.

I've picked up a lot of the new no1s. Black Widow wasn't my sort of thing, I just can't get into the whole spy genre so didn't continue with that. I know everyone seems to love Loki, and while it was ok, I didn't like it enough to add it to my pull list which is big enough as it is. She-Hulk I wasn't amazed with either, but it is something I'm going to give a few more issues. The Punisher was ok, I like the Punisher so Frank get's the benefit of the doubt and a few more issues. Ms Marvel was amazing and is the one title I'll be definitely be keeping up with. I'm looking forward to the Fantastic Four, and Silver Surfer coming out. Hopefully these won't disappoint. And the Captain Marvel relaunch, i've no doubt at all, that will be ace.
