Personally I think it looks like a good movie. Put on your "Else World" thinking caps and lets see what it's all about.

i was aware of that movie and exactly as you said theres just nothing that screams Fun in the new movie
thats propably why i like the MCU movies so much. they just balance fun and the grim like not many others.
also after watching the trailer i really miss old school movie scores that one just screams adventure, another thing you dont get much anymore.

All I can say is good choice on not showing Doom. The only way they could make a blogger sinister is to cast Perez Hilton.

Man that trailer actually looked pretty good. It didn't look like a Fantastic 4 movie but it looked like it could be a good movie if you think of it as an alternate universe Fantastic 4

The trailer has me conflicted. On the one hand, it is a pretty well-put-together trailer; on the other, as Bob said, it's nothing like the Fantastic Four. It doesn't exude excitement or fun; it smacks of serious and grim. If this were just some sci-fi action summer blockbuster, I think I'd be pretty interested in it. But again, it's just not the Fantastic Four; taking creative liberties with adaptations doesn't usually ruin the movies for me, but there's a difference between changing details and completely abandoning the spirit of the source material. The Fantastic Four are supposed to be a family who go on adventures, not some ersatz-Interstellar.

Given the tone of this trailer the FF could easily cross over with X-Men. If the movie does well a crossover movie could be likely. That would give Fox an event movie that could compare to Avengers or Justice League in terms of scale

Well Bob still no true Fantastic 4 movie but there is always the Incredibles sequel Steven, Welcome to the Forum! Why didn't Fox ever take notice of how well-received critically and commercially "The Incredibles" was, and realize that the FF source material could give their film the same cache?

A true FF movie would stand out too among the Avengers, X-Men, and Justice League given the family focus. Instead this trailer feels like a cross between X-Men and Interstellar which does kinda sound awesome but not very FF

I have not been looking forward to this movie at all with no intention of ever seeing it. I only get to the theater a few times a year and it's usually kid movies for my daughter's(they loved Peabody and Sherman) and the Marvel movies which I find fun.
The thing about this movie is that I like Trank and think the cast are fine actors excluding Miles Teller because I'm not familiar with his work. However after this trailer I am interested enough to rent or stream this film. It's not the FF I know and love but I am willing to give it a chance now. The next trailer will really determine my level of interest.
