Ok so two episodes deep into the second season and this show has become something very interesting. I hesitate to use the word good because most of the acting is laughably hammy and the plots are bonkers. But all that criticism aside it boarders on 60's era batman goofball hilarity. The only thing really holding the show back is it's infuriating insistence on taking itself seriously. If the creators of this show just dispensed with the pretenses and decided to be a noir satire it could be genius. However, any episode which doesn't contain the penguin is essentially a waste.
What do you guys think?

I just think they need to accept the fact that they are the 60s Campy Batman reborn for a modern audience. Without Batman or Robin of course. The problem is the show also wants to be gritty and take it self seriously at times as well. They kind of want to have their cake and eat it too. That's never going to work because the show is going to always have an uneven tone. They need to finally decide what show it is and stick with it.
Honestly I do hope they go with the campy 60s tone. I think they are more successful when they go that direction. When they go the dark gritty route they fail miserably.
