The Searchers (1956); directed by John Ford, and featuring John Wayne in his greatest, and most un-expected performance...and also one of my favorite films!

I believe my father actually WENT to the movies on my birthday, or shortly thereafter (while mom was recuperating) and I THINK it was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. But let's use the Google machine powered by Box Office Mojo ... or whatever ...
... ... ...
Yep. $33M weekend, opened 5/25 and I was born on the Sunday. Fun Fact: I did not know I was born on Sunday until just now.

Also, I remember Code of Silence being kind of boss. But it was 20+ years ago ...

Also, I remember Code of Silence being kind of boss. But it was 20+ years ago ... Haven't had the pleasure of viewing this Chuck Flick, but any movie that contains the line... " If I wanted your opinion I would beat it out of you" ... with zero irony, gets my attention. A good cop having a bad day indeed.

After the post-credits sequence of the Podcast this week and this story about your Dad going to the movies when you were tiny, it sounds like your Dad is a Silver Screen Fiend! Does he remember what he went to see whilst contemplating your new existence? Please pass on my regards for his input to the show this week. Very impressive list.

Lenny, Brian's dad Michael is an absolute movie maven, and one of the nicest guys around to boot! I'm pretty good at film lore, but excepting the subject of B-Movie (and under!) sci-fi/monster stuff, Mr. Verderosa's knowledge far exceeds mine...and Brian's not bad on things, either! (Hey, Brian!)

On October 18, 1977 the #1 movie was Oh God! Starring George Burns. Good movie, but the best thing was Reggie Jackson hit 3 HRs in the 6th game of the World Series for the Yankees... m.youtube.com/watch?v=hDMYVtzHGuI
