Is it just me or has the show been steadily been picking up steam as of late. I no longer feel like the show is gimmicky and cliche. It built up the characters so that you care for each one of them. I dont know why but I had the image in my head of a roller coaster. It starts off slowly but then gains speed and I feel like we are on a wild ride!

God damn you AoS! After last weeks episode and the reveal about Coulson I was nearly out - giving it one more episode to see if I could be bothered with it, I can happily say that after this weeks episode I'm definitely in - its gotten me hooked again.

It's kept me interested enough to keep watching, I'll say that much.

I just caught up on the show and i swear it felt like work; I've been trying so hard to see bright spots but I find myself so bored. I don't have a connection to any character so I don't feel engaged. I'm hoping that they are taking notes and critiques so that season 2 comes on strong. I'd recommend that the training wheels come off and that no character is safe...raise the stakes. I hate to compare shows but take a page from Torchwood.

My thoughts exactly, but I quit watching after 6 episodes. Much happier with Arrow.

This show I think has been dealt a bad hand in its first season due to expectations. A large portion of people went in assuming this was going to be a super hero every week kind of show. When I read the title of the show, Marvel: Agents of SHIELD, I personally expect the show to be primarily about SHIELD and the agents who work within it, not super hero of the week, like Arrow. I love Arrow, but you can't compare the two shows, one is a show definitevley about a Justice League level super hero and his rouge gallery; however this is not the focus or idea of Marvels Agents of SHIELD, this show does exactly what its title implies, which is defining and fleshing out the SHEILD organization in the Marvel cinematic universe. These are just my personal thoughts on why the show has recieved mixed reviews.

Any idea why there is so little agent of shield episodes actually airing.
It seriously feels like it is only an episode a month at this rate

It has seriously been picking up. This week... seriously. I'm so excited now that they've revealed more about the J. August Richards character. Be sure to check out the after-credits scene in "TRACKS." It will blow your mind-hole. And the episode is quite good as well.

Agreed I can say that this was the first actually good episode that I would watch for more reasons than it is part of the marvel universe. Hope it keeps getting better from here

I think this show has been very solid since it came back after the mid-season break.
The first episode after the break felt like a whole different show and was incredibly wrought and emotional, the first time I felt anything towards the characters.
Since then, I've grown to really like every character. They all have their place, bringing something totally different to the table and have elements to them that you connect with or makes you root for them. The only slightly weak character for me is Agent Ward, but that's not to say I don't like him.
I appreciate the earlier episodes much more after the last couple. In true Whedon style, it's now benefitting from plodding a little and having very deliberate character moments. The show can now break free of those as we've got to know everyone and can run with a shackle-free story every episode.
It's been a slog getting there, but this show is now turning into something very engrossing, fun and downright enjoyable.

I kind of petered off on it. I realise it's back and want to watch it. I just don't care enough about anyone to watch the 3 episodes or so I haven't watched.

The Sif episode was great. It almost felt like a true Joss Whedon show.

Agreed I am hoping for more of this
It is crazy joss wheddon has done so many shows that were better than this in the beginning that got canceled
Now this is not nearly as good as those but it looks like he is going to get a chance to make it good before getting canceled

Lady Sif brought me back to the show this week. I liked it, although maybe it was just the shoutouts to the Thor movies that did it for me. At least this episode had some forward momentum, and it seems like Skye might be a slightly more interesting character now. I'll check out next week's episode to see if it continues to improve.
