For those not on twitter Zach Snyder posted a pic of Jason Momoa in full Aquaman glory; /photo/1 Not sure how well this goes with the traditional Aquaman look but damn does that look imposing as hell!

i really like it, its not the aquaman we know but he looks so badass and the classic scalemail as a maori tatoo is fucking awesome. i just hope that he is raised in atlantis now to make this otherworldly look make sense

I LOVE this. If there's one costume that needed an update it was Aquamans. Although this looks a lot like the armless Aquaman costume anyway. I figured they would either go this way or the Injustice costume, but heavy metal armour seems kind of counter productive to swimming under water. But man. Every comment I see uses the word "badass". Who'd have thought we'd live in a time where Aquaman and badass go together. Good times.

Not too shabby! I too love the idea of a tattoo serving as replacement to the armor look. It keeps the same vibe but updates it. Very smart. I also like the blonde highlights in his hair, again not the super blonde Aquaman we all know but of helps to pull a bit of that character into this new one.
What I don't like the super dark costume. Once again it's like DC lives in a world devoid of color. You've got a darker skinned actor with dark hair covered in dark tattoos wearing dark armor. I really think they needed to accent the armor in a brighter gold trim. I mean it's already very slightly accented so why not make it pop just a bit more and bring some Kodachrome into the world.

Peter David has approved of them using his Aquaman look. That makes me even happier. When the creators get behind the adaptations it's always a victory. This interview with Momoa is also really good (old, but good), and all his reasons for doing it are so refreshing compared usual "I'm doing it so my kids can watch a movie I'm in" which is nice, but an actor with a passion for the character is very welcome. www.darkhorizons.com/news/34355/momoa-finally-talks-his-aquaman-role I think at this point it's fair to say that Marvel are doing the lighter stuff and DC are sticking with the darker tone. It's where DCs biggest successes come from. In movies whether it be the 89 Batman or Nolan Batman. And in the comics: Crisis on Infinite Earths, DKR, Watchmen, Year One, Killing Joke, Final Crisis, the current Batman run, Justice League and Forever Evil etc. I get it sucks for people who want a brighter happier DC in the big screen, but I feel like it's a good contrast in comparison to what Marvel is putting out. At least there's variety instead of the same thing from both sides a million times a year.

I'm curious how this movie is going to look. Is Atlantis going to be in some type of underwater dome. I don't see how we can have characters swimming underwater and conversing and interacting with each other like in the comics. Are they actually going to shoot it under water or are the atlantians going to be on wires with a green screen behind them?
