Started listening to the podcast ever since the Joey Esposito Footprints interview (somewhere early 2012). Really loved the comradery between the podcasters and light-hearted tone. Been a regular listener ever since. You guys make me laugh out loud regularly making my morning commute a lot more fun. Im always a few episodes behind though so I just found out about this forum yesterday while listening to episode #115. Name: Boy Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands First Comic Exposure: Spider-Man, Tintin, Donald Duck, Asterix, Lucky Luke, Suske & Wiske What I read: Monkeybrain, Image, Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, everything really. When I Started Reading Regularly: I dropped off reading comics when I went to high school. Got back in years later when I spotted a little BKV Runaways Digest on a counter rack somewhere. Blasted through it in no time and went to the comic shop the very next day to pick up the first 2 HC's. Been back ever since. Welcome Boy! Finally another dutch guy

Only one i can think of right now is Masks and Mobsters from Monkeybrain, it could be that a lot of people know this book but i don't hear a lot of talk about it so i thought i'd mention it. Its written by Josh Williamson, and as the title says its superheroes versus the mob which is pretty awesome. And i like the art which is all done in black and white. Other Monkeybrain titles i like are Bandette, Captain Ultimate and Edison Rex.
Oh and that Concrete series sounds like something i would like, it doesn't cost a whole lot on the Dark Horse app so i'm gonna try it some time.

So just got caught up on the Snyder Capullo Batman run.Started yesterday with issue 18 and just got done with 27. Zero Year is the best arc of the series so far i think, still don't think its the greatest thing ever but its a very good story.Really seems like Capullo's art is getting better.(don't like Batman's purple gloves though) The purple gloves are a nod to the very first Batman costume, as seen in these panels from Detective Comics #27 Okay thank you, thought it would be something like that. Still think it looks a bit off though but i understand why they did it.

I've been thinking of picking up the Black Mirror TPB. How does it hold up compared to Snyder's current run? Do It! Can't recommend that one enough.Maybe i'm the only one but in my opinion this is Snyder's best work on Batman so far. I like Capullo's art on the current run but i love the art in this run.And Snyder writes a great Dick Grayson. Got a great hardcover of this book and its one my favorite possesions.

Avengers is really mixed for me, but that's because there's so many titles so of course there's some good and some bad stuff. Some books i really liked though were Uncanny, Avengers Arena, Avengers Academy and what i've read of the Bendis stuff. As for Hickman's work, some i like and some of it i can't get into.

My housemate and good friend passed away last Thursday, so it's been a pretty sh** few days to put it mildly. I've found myself re-reading the Sandman from the beginning. Also had my head buried in Alan Moores Promethea. I find books with a lot of depth to them make me concentrate more and it takes my mind of other things. Sorry for your loss man, that's horrible. In my case it was a death in my family, its a cliche but it teaches you to be grateful for every day. As for Sandman, i'm ashamed to say i've never read it cause from what i heard of it i don't think its something i would like, but maybe someday i'll read it.
Oh and sorry guys if this thread is such a downer.

Okay so getting a bit personal here. Won't go into details but i had something pretty terrible happen to me at the end of last year, and what i found out is that of all the things i like to do in my free time that reading helped me get through it the most.
I found out that reading some great books like Batman, Locke and Key, Scalped, Saga, Hawkeye, Daredevil and Fables really helped me to get up whenever i was down, and still do.
So i'm only wondering if any of you are the same way?And if you are what do you like to read in that time? Nothing more, not looking for any details or something.
Thank you.

For anyone who's a fan of the Bat the new episode of Fatman on Batman is probably one of the best episodes I've listened to. Opens your eyes as to who the real uncredited creator of the Dark Knight is. I was just thinking about that episode, listened to it yesterday and i agree that it was one of best.Really interesting! And if its true that the guy really created so much of the Batman world its a real shame that he doesn't get the credit.
