Is anyone else reading these comics from Dark Horse??? It's reviving the superhero line they started in the 90s. Captain Midnight is actually very old. Midnight is the 'main' title, done by Joshua Williamson and Fernando Dagnino, is really good. If you are looking for a relatively small superhero universe to pick up and not have to know anything prior, check these out.
Fred Van Lente writes Brain Boy, so it's very funny. X is the 'R-rated' title.

I have been reading all but Brain Boy and enjoying them very much. I originally read X and Ghost when they published them as part of their Comic's Greatest World experiment in the early to mid 90's.

Captain Midnight Vol 3 comes out today, along with Captain Midnight #15. You can pick up both and get caught up on the story.
Also highly recommend the Skyman miniseries. It was written by Joshua Williamson (Ghosted, Nailbiter) and drawn beautifully by Manuel Garcia. It is an off-shoot from Captain Midnight.

Volume 3 was OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Layers upon layers of story, great art, and the superhero universe is fairly self-contained. It set up Project Black Sky at the end, too.

There's a good sampler that they put out. Pick it up if you want a sample of all the titles (except X and Cap Midnight).
