So, this series arrived pretty much out of the blue for me, and having read the first issue I wanted to pass on a recommendation.
It's written by Warren Ellis (which is normally pretty much an automatic buy for me) and gorgeous art by Tula Lotay. As far as I can tell from the first issue, this is both the completely fresh start of a new story and a continuation of the story from Alan Moore's wonderful Supreme: The Story of the Year run. This will make perfect sense to anyone who has read the earlier run - if you haven't, I highly recommend it since it showcases all of the same fondness for the Silver Age Superman that Moore showed so ably in "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?".
Very much looking forward to seeing how this develops - what did anyone else think of it?

I grabbed a copy, and later, after i'd finished Trees and Saga and Zero, i flipped through it casually and tried to make some sense of it, but failed utterly. Mea culpa; it was in the wee hours. Hopefully it'll make more sense tonight when I give it a second run.

So, yeah, this book was weird but beautiful. I kinda love how Liefeld has embraced letting other writers do whatever the hell they want with his books.

I picked up the first issue a while ago due it being Warren Ellis, read it and thought it was wonderfully weird, but had no idea what was going on. So today after looking on good old wikipedia to get some idea of the previous stories having not read it before I read the first 3 issues back to back, and wow, what a book. It made a lot more sense. Tula Lotays art is amazing and fits the book perfectly. Definitely gonna track down the Moore run.
