Did anyone pick up the Wolverine blu ray with the director's cut? It's like a whole new film. I highly recommend it. Basically an R-rated Wolvie flick with extra violence and much more blood.

Here's the thing. I actually really loved The Wolverine. I know that's not a super popular opinion but it's my 3rd favorite X-Men to come out (which I mentioned on a Brewed and Boarded episode). That being said, I knew the film wasn't perfect and had a lot of problems and was really hoping something like this came out. It really helped Daredevil back in the day so it could only help The Wolverine right? Absolutely. It takes, in my opinion, an already great movie and turns it into an amazing movie that any comic fan would love. The fact that they turned up the action and intensity only adds to the story and makes it all the more compelling. Thanks for bringing it up, I want to hear what other people think about it.

I waited on seeing it after the disaster of the first origin film and I watched the unrated one a few weeks ago. I thought it was really good as well. I hope they do another

I'll have to give the unrated version a go, I struggled to get through the regular cut but it sounds like the unrated one improved the movie quite a bit.

It made the movie so much better, especially in the troubled third act of the film. I'm glad there are talks for a sequel now, that's how much I enjoyed it.

The scene in the snowy village where Wolverine has all the arrows sticking out of his back is extended quite a bit and is my favorite addition. Mangold, in the commentary, said that they cut out this huge action scene involving motorcyclists and a wood chipper because they feared the audience would be too exhausted for another huge action scene. This was my favorite addition to the extended version for many reasons I won't spoil.

I am with you. I thought the film was fantastic and am happy to hear that the extend cut improves. I just haven't gotten my hands in it yet but hopefully soon.

My biggest problem with The Wolverine is that I couldn't give a damn by the time the fight scene climax hit - I had completely zoned out. I had a similar reaction to the end of X2 - something about two people punching/slashing at one another for too long really loses my attention.

I red boxed it last night and watched it again. Will eventually purchase it on Blue Ray for the unrated. Like I said in a another thread I was very surprised by how good it was and how much I enjoyed it. I went in expecting to want to throw my food at the tv like I wanted to with Origins... (Damn you to hell Fox for what you did to Deadpool....)

I picked up the blu-ray a while back and watched it last week. I thought it was a good, not great film. I did really like the direction they took Logan's story and made it the gritty story it should be. Still behind X-Men, X2, and First Class for me though.
