Have you ever heard the Adrien Belew record with Danny Carry on drums and Les Claypool on bass? It's power trio madness and I always push it on Tool fans! I think it's called Side B (or side A) but I can never remember Yup! It's some pretty good stuff. If you like that you should totally check out Danny's side project VOLTO!. It's heavy rock n roll riffs with a taste of jazz fusion. The drumming combinations are reminiscent of some of Danny's work with Tool on jam songs like Merkaba from "Salival". It's all instrumental and is quite the treat for the ears. Yeah man, I'm all over that group! I love interesting progressive stuff like that. Just got a record from the lead dude in Porcipine Tree (who is never really listened to) Stephen Wilson and it's very reminiscent of King Krimson and stuff along the lines of Volto. My band on Long Island, 4NZX, used to try and riff on stuff like that also (our guitarist is a big Tool fan and the drummer and I love all things prog) with big composition and snobby jazz shit but focused on dance/electronic rythms behind it. Steve, I've been wondering when you would pop in here! You are assuming incorrectly, though, so five demerits, and begin again with an "All-Time Top Five"! Hey BOB! When will you be at the video store this weekend? I'll be in Patchogue working on my inlaws house so I'd love to pop in and meet you. I have a 4NZX unreleased album as well if you'd like Khan, I'll be at the store on Sunday from Noon until 6PM; I'd love a chance to meet you in person...and of course I'd love to hear some tune-age!

The drums around 18/19min? Dope! Thanks for that man, will get this record! Glad you liked Steven Wilson to. I don't know if you've ever heard my group but we were really big on Long Island before we stopped playin as much. Strangely enough we played in front of Uncle Bobs shop when we were first starting up! The drummer and I are fans of your pod lol. Check it and let me know. youtu.be/uAaMMLBIfFw

My inlaws is on the water by the docks and is super fucked up from Sandy still so I go down there and move snow around on the bobcat before sundown on the weekends

Ladies and gentlemen.
This post has little to do directly with this thread, but with the curtain closing on Saint Valentine's Day (and much Cotes du Rhone consumed), I just wanted to share a beautiful love song that many of you might know through the cover version, but this is the original from 1982; the Four Tops, featuring an amazing performance by their incredible lead singer Levi Stubbs, and "I Believe in You and Me":
(Sorry, but I couldn't find a live performance video with decent audio.)
This was actually a b-side, but DJs flipped it and turned this song into one of the Tops' most-loved tunes, and one that continues to be an evergreen at this time of year!
ps) Khan, I hope to see you on Sunday! rrr

Ohhhhh man this is going to be difficult for me to do... As of right now my 5 favorite albums would have to be as follows: 1) In Flames "Soundtrack to Your Escape" - This album is what REALLY got me into metal, In Flames is probably my favorite metal band of all and their are beyond amazing to see live. 2) Iron Maiden "Piece of Mind" - Flight of Icarus is my favorite Maiden song. 3) Tool "Lateralus" - I can listen to this album on repeat for days at a time. Can not wait to see them live in March! 4) Daft Punk "Human After All" - In my opinion the best EDM album there is. 5) Nine Inch Nails "The Downward Spiral" - Because Trent Reznor is awesome. Honorable mentions: Rage Against the Machine "The Battle of Los Angeles" Beastie Boys "Licensed to Ill" Muse "The 2nd Law" Queen "A Night at the Opera" Dr. Dre "The Chronic 2001" Eminem "The Slim Shady LP" Nas and Damian Marley "Distant Relatives" Foo Fighters "The Colour and The Shape"
I used to work at a few music stores and radio stations, so narrowing down my favourite albums is probably one of the hardest things in the entirety of the world, but I got to see NIN and Rage Against the Machine at Lollapalooza a few years back and wooooooow. So amazing. I would give my, uhhhh, something to see Queens of the Stone Age live at some point in time in my life, but I HAVE seen Them Crooked Vultures so that's a thing.

I honestly have no idea if I could narrow down my favourite albums of all-time. I have such weird, varied taste in tunes, so I'll write down a few of my favourite albums here in no particular order because I'm terrible (even though they're technically numbered)...
1) The Decemberists - The Hazards of Love 2) Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf 3) Arcade Fire - The Suburbs 4) Angus & Julia Stone - Down the Way 5) Florence + the Machine - Lungs
That's probably the closest I'll get to a Top 5...
Additionally:
The Killers - Hot Fuss Broken Social Scene - Self-Titled The xx - Self-Titled Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros - Up From Below Feist - The Reminder Glasvegas - Self-Titled Goldfrapp - Supernature Joy Division - Permanent Snow Patrol - Final Straw The Naked and the Famous - Passive Me, Aggressive You
These are (mostly) alphabetical because I'm going through my iTunes... Ahaha...

Stephanie, I'm going to have to check some of these out, as I'm unaware of many of them, but the ones I do know I like a lot; I mean Florence Welch has one of the great voices in music today! (Mostly alphabetical is just fine, although adding random "u"s is not permitted except in correcting American spellings!!)

Top Five Albums,
5. Rush - Moving Pictures 4. Eve 6 - All in Your Head 3. Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture 2. The Menzingers - A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology 1. Streetlight Manifesto - Everything Goes Numb
Honorable Mention, Bad Religion - Empire Strikes First Operation Ivy - Energy Metallica - Master of Puppets Mischief Brew - Their Entire Cataloge. It would be in my top five, but most of their albums would be splits/five track E.P.s A beautiful blend of Folk and punk from Philadelphia, over some of the best Acoustic Guitar lines ever.
I could name a few more, but I don't want to duplicate.

Ahaha... Lots of great albums! I saw The Decemberists during their Hazards of Love tour. They played the whole album during the first set, and then did an additional 90 minute set playing other songs. They did an amazing encore covert Heart's Crazy on You. One of my favorite concerts ever.

I've yet to see NIN or Rage live and it kills me a little inside knowing that. I met Tom Morello at a comic book signing and had to keep the fanboying down to a minimum. I did get to see Foo Fighters at Blizzcon a few years ago and they were amazing, still need to get Queens of the Stone Age crossed off the list.
