Every Wednesday I am excited. Not only because I get some new comic books, but because I get a new talking comics podcast, I find myself waking up with the alarm and making sure I open the podcast app so it will trigger the autodownload before I have to begin my commute, hoping that the whole cast is present (no Stephanie is the pits, most recently no Steve also bummed me out more than expected). I listen on my way to work, then rush inside and put on the headphones, hopefully getting to listen to the podcast in it's entirety without any more interruptions.
Here are some thoughts I have about the cast,
I find Bob to be a fountain of knowledge, with so much comic wisdom and obscure facts. I always pay close attention to what he has to say because usually it pays off very well, I've stated before that I went through the original fantastic four with the goal of getting to read the original galactus story. Bob is always so polite, and likes to give Stephanie affirmations whenever she self doubts or is getting messed with by Steve. When I first started listening I think he is what drew me in, I wanted to hear more from a comics veteran.
I like Bobby because he comes off as a polite, ambassador like leader of the show. He strives to give us great content while remaining fairly non biased and supportive of the rest of the group, while also making sure the show doesn't get derailed with long off topic rants. It's almost like he's the team leader, but also a supporting cast at the same time.
I find Steve personally most relate-able because we both seem have similar interests, art and horror movies. A lot of the time I find myself agreeing with his opinions, but when I don't I at least he argues his point well and I can respect that.
Stephanie is just fun. She brings a lot of obscure titles to the table that would possibly go overlooked by everyone else. She's funny, and zany and lunges. Her odd canadian cat lady humor has me laughing almost every time she takes the mic.
What draws you guys to the show? What are your favorite things about our humble hosts?

Joe,
All I can say is "Thanks"!
(Well, and that I'll be printing it out and hanging it on my icebox...and maybe passing out copies at the supermarket...and having tee shirts made, and...)
Seriously, that was a lovely piece that you wrote, and though it sounds cliche, we do the show as a group of friends chatting about something we love, for another group of amazing friends that we've acquired through the electronic media! It's been an great ride, and our "Thanks" goes to you fine people out there for creating this wonderful community that makes this all-the-more special!
A tip o'the Talking Comics Hat to you all, Bob

I love the "more than expected" part of your post. Thank, man. Additionally, thank you for all of your kind words. The show is a really big highlight of what Talking Comics has to offer everyone and I'm honored to be a part of it. I'm a bit spacey from time to time, but everything I bring to the show comes from the heart and I don't believe it would be the same if I were not a part of it. As for my compatriots ... they're alright, I guess. ;-)

I think everyone on the show has great speaking voices. Everybody's personality really shines through in the way they speak (and what they choose to say). I also find myself relating to Steve a lot. Almost every time he picks out a book of the week I at least consider picking it up, and when I do I tend to love it. Stephanie is just plain fun. I also admire the fact that if I mention her in a tweet she will mostly always respond (even if it's something unrelated to comics, like tea or something). It's nice to feel like someone you respect in the media you love take the time to listen to your thoughts and comments. Bob is a very wise Gandalf type. He's more into the Capes N' Cowls than I am, but he really knows what he loves, and he's not afraid to flaunt his extensive knowledge of comics past. I agree with what joestate said about Bobby. He seems to be the "leader" of the group, without a cocky or self-absorbed attitude. He really tries hard to keep the conversation going in a positive direction. My favorite moment involving him was the Harley Quinn special episode where you guys interviewed Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner. They were so random and off-topic the whole time and you could tell that all Bobby wanted to do was keep the conversation going in the right direction. Yet he was still polite and awesome about it. Keep up the great work guys. I love it, and you make my week just as much as picking up my subscription box does. Thank you. <3

Greetings,
What I like most about the show is the relatively G-PG rating it would get. Meaning you folks all seem to have a great respect for each other's opinions, even when they differ, there's no snarkiness directed towards each other, and the off-color humor and swearing is really kept to a minimum. This is all especially important because I like to listen to the podcast in the car and often I've got my kids with me. It's nice that they can listen in without me worrying too much if I'm going to quickly have to punch the radio on to avoid a conversation on shall we say...more mature topics.
So thanks for that.
- Beau

What got me listening in the show way back when was the dynamic. Steve and Stephanie are both a little cooky/odd/different, which I found I could relate to. I tended to agree more with what Bobby was saying, and liked that he would push the others to be more specific in their reasoning and forcing that "Why?" Bob is a wealth of comic knowledge and he just has that "Uncle that everyone loves" vibe.

I've been listening for over a year now and I have to say its one of my favorite podcasts I listen to. I like the fact that the podcast is for the most part extremely positive yet they wont hesitate to say "Hey this book is a giant pile of bantha poodoo". They voice their honest opinions yet still keep the show fun and friendly which is great. Too many other comic book podcasts just seem to be a bunch of angry geeks who want to vent and tear everything apart and nitpick it down to the bone. But not the awesome talking comics crew! Everyone here brings something to the table which is what makes the show so great.
I learn something new from Bob every week, I consider him my all knowing comic book Jedi Master. Stephanie's fun humor and knowledge of non big 2 books are what helped turn me into the Image fanboy I have become, oh and dont forget the crazy cat stuff. Bobby is like previously stated the leading type, he reminds me of the Cap of the Avengers. The all around nice guy who keeps everyone on task and everything running smooth. I share a lot of the same opinions and interest with Steve and his humor is great. I love the little playful fights he picks with Stephanie.
Keep up the good work everyone, hopefully in one of my NYC visits I'll run into some of you somewhere!

Dear Talking comics, I have to say that there is no other podcast I look forward to more than yours, and I have a podlist longer than Steve's pull list...ok that's a bit of an exaggeration. But I love your pod, each one of you offers something unique to the table. I could listen to Bob talk about FF for days, and I don't even read that title (I promise I will someday though).
Bobby keeps the show going, and is one of the most fair moderators I've ever heard. I don't think you get enough credit for keeping things rolling, and making sure no one is put down and everyone gets their say.
Steve, you have some of the best stories and best attitude about comics and the community in general. You recently told a really heartfelt story that just made me want to give you a hug. I think I've added most to my pull list because of you.
Stephanie's bubbly personality and love of indie comics just make me smile, and I have to say I never would've read Tiger-Lawyer or Rachel Rising if it weren't for you.
Overall I love your cast even though I have some different opinions, but the way you four talk about these books, brings out a passion that makes me really open to trying new books I wouldn't have otherwise tried.

Craig,
It's funny that the Fantastic Four analogy didn't strike me until you posted the Star Wars match-up!
I'm sure that you've heard that there are some nutty rumours around that George Lucas used the FF as templates for some of his characters! That Darth Vader sprang from Doctor Doom seems that it could be spot-on, the others I'm not so sure about. As the rumour goes, Leia & Luke are Sue & Johnny, with the sister attracted to the leader of the team Han Solo (Reed), who's best buddies with Chewie (Ben), an orange monster who is also his pilot! I think it's a reach myself, but it's fun to speculate about.

"Dead",
Mr. Lucas is reasonably my age (he's slightly older), and we grew up reading and watching the same things, so you never know, but it might have been an unconscious homage, as opposed to the knowing nods to the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers movie serials.

I love the show. I became a listener back when I was working on comics full time. It was such a beacon of encouragement, fun, and interesting discussion and I was immediately pulled in by every cast member. I've listened to so many episodes multiple times just to hear certain discussions again and make sure I'm checking out the new comics mentioned. Bobby is just a beast--- spearheading a project that has kept many people entertained and educated on comics Bob is amazing----can't get enough of his insight and he gave book of the week to my first book HOODS so I will always be grateful for that Steve is the man-- Relate-able, real, down to earth- I feel like he really lives the comic lovers life and its awesome Stephanie is the backbone of the pod! There was a couple of weeks where she wasn't there and its like..... wait... wha... where's...? It was hard times
