I've been really wanting to get something commissioned from Ben to get put on my skin! I'm leaning towards something Cthulu like! I bet Ben would love to do something like that! And it's so much more fun to get commissions when the artist is excited about doing it. He was very happy to do Spider, as he's worked with Warren Ellis and has so much respect for that particular book. He was at my LCS doing a signing and I almost asked him to just draw something quick on me but decided I'd wait for an actual commissionthat he can really take his time on.

Good idea. If you're going to do a custom tattoo, do it as right as you can!

I think it'd be kind of hard for someone to nail down Templesmith's style in a tattoo. I don't really have much experience so I could be wrong. Seems like something you would definitely want to be really particular about.
Man... A Templesmith Joker would be a SWEET tattoo!

I don't have any geeky tattoos yet, but I'm planning on getting one from the guy who handles my buddies tattoos. He has Wonder Woman on one leg, Power Girl on another, Deadpool on his right arm and the Captain America shield on his neck.
The one I was going to get was an image from Blade Runner and have it wrapped around my wrist. I've wanted to get it for over a year now but its just a matter of finding time to do it.

Would most likely cost me an arm and a leg but it'd be worth it!

I waited about 6 months for my appointment that unfortunately had to be cancelled.

I've had the rule of "I need to want it for a year" before I get it, but I've since changed my mind, even after wanting it for 2 years. The two ideas I've had now for a year, but I'm not sure if I want to do it/have the money to do it. I kind of want to just get a spur of the moment tat to see if I can handle it. I REALLY don't like needles. Honestly man, a tattoo needle is VERY different from your garden variety syringe. You don't experience so much of a stabbing or needling as you do an etching. The sensation is more of an annoyance than actual pain. Additionally, things don't really get intense until the very end of the project. Those last couple of minutes will be more "painful" than the rest because the area has become raw by that time. I've got about 15 tattoos on my body at this point and each one carries with it a different story. There are some I love and at least 2 that I regret, sort of. If you're thinking about getting one try to start small. It's the sort of thing that you just have to power through. Good luck, man.

In case any of you fine folks had missed it, I just recently acquired my very first comic book-related tattoo. In honor of my favorite graphic novel, I've tattooed Barabara Thorson of Joe Kelly and JM Ken Niimura's "I KILL GIANTS" on the back of my left calf. The ink was done by Cheryl Tarulli of crimsonculture.com She has a private studio located in Amityville, New York Behold!
