I love Jessica Drew. I'm gonna' start there. I love her. She's a great character who, for the past several years, has played second fiddle in the background of Avengers titles and Captain Marvel, and while I love the latter book in and of itself, I wanted Jessica Drew on the forefront of her own book. And then I got it. We're 2 issues in now, and it's opened as part of the Spider-Verse, which may be off-putting to readers with Event fatigue, but I myself am in full throttle. A lot of people hate Greg Land's work. It's overly sexualized and traced and all the women look the same and all the men look the same and yada yada yada, so I completely understand this sentiment. All that being said, I am still super excited that Jess is getting that push. In the first issue, there was some concern because AGAIN it seemed that Jess might be pushed to second fiddle in her own book, the same treatment that Pete was getting over in Amazing Spidey... taking a back seat to the new character, Silk. I enjoyed the first issue, but that was a concern. I didn't want to read about Silk. I wanted to read about Jess. In the second issue, Jess inches her way toward center stage, but there's still some work to be done. Keeping that in mind, I'm still enjoying it. It's not specifically EXACTLY what I want, but few things seldom are in life. Dennis Hopeless, the writer, is an engaging storyteller, and Land has dialed back some on the T & A (not by much, but by some), but I really want this book to come out of Spider-Verse and find a solid readership. I'm in it either way for the long haul. Because, by God, Jessica Drew deserves it. What do you guys think?

I am not currently reading this title (not into Spider-Verse or Land) but as soon as I learned about the redesign (/soft relaunch?) I put it on my pull from #5 on.
Glad to hear ypu are enjoying the current issues. Makes me want to keep an eye out for it on Marvel Unlimited.

Ok, unlike most I'm more interested in this title than the Spider Gwen series, previously announced. So far, 2 issues in, I've liked this series and I can't wait to see what happens outside the event.
I really like Hopeless, I really enjoyed both "Avenger Arena" & "Undercover Avengers" and I hope he can keep the momentum going.

Spider-Gwen, I'm going to reluctantly check out. I wasn't blown away by the one-off in Edge of Spider-verse. It was decent and well-executed, and I'm a sucker for all things Spidey, so at least the first couple issues will get my dollars. But the Jessica Drewski is where it's at, and you're right. Hopeless is really growing as a writer, and you see it in everything he does. I wasn't crazy about his Cable & X-Force run, but Arena and Undercover were both solid. I'm really excited to see what he has in store for Jess.

There's a new interview with Spider-Woman author Dennis Hopeless on CBR that sheds light on the series' post-Spider-Verse direction. Looks like issue #4 is the transition out of Spider-Verse, with #5 being the start of the new direction (as rgsc mentioned earlier in this thread). I'm really looking forward to Javier Rodriguez joining the book! Full interview here: www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=58671

Despite the " un-readability" expressed by some, I"ve enjoyed Jess's role in the spider-verse event. She has been a key player and a straight up badass throughout the story and I can't wait to see her next adventure and the new costume. Hopeless has given her a strong voice and look forward to seeing how he builds out the world around her. Based on the interview, I glad there will still be some level of interaction between her and Danvers, but I want to see the development of her own supporting cast.

Well now that shes out of Spider-Verse its a great book. Street level for her is awesome.
I do have a question. Can she still fly? I know it was an on again off again ability. Just wondering if she can currently.

I'm not sure where guardians team up 1 fits. But it came out this week, and she was flying all around and blasting people with her hand blast.
