couldn't think of a better thread title. Anyway, just wanted to share what I thought was a cool little story. Yesterday my daughter had her winter concert, and the theme was "what I want to be when I grow up". All the kids grades K-2 had little badges that looked like stars that they had written what they wanted to be when they grew up. We couldn't see it from our seats, but afterward I asked Mirei what she had put on hers and she said "I want to be a comic designer". Later i asked her what part of designing comics she wanted to do, writer, pencils, colors or letters and she said she wanted to be a colorist. We (the entire comic industry, the fans, everyone) must be doing something right if a 7 year old girl sees being a comic colorist as being what she wants her contribution to society to be.

I love stuff like this, A little kid waked into my LCS with his mom a few weeks ago. He was so happy looking at all the books and statues. The workers were busy with with dealing with some shipping emergency so i showed this kid around the store and helped him pick out a bunch of comics, It was great. On his way out his mom told him that they'll come back after he reads the books they just bought.
