Anyone still reading Black Science? Issue 4 was great, I thought. Nice little carry-through from the previous dimension and a breather for some character building.

I'm loving all the twists and turns, and profiling these different variations of Earth. Although I've enjoyed the action and fast pace of the series, I agree that it was refreshing to have some time for characters to interact and build their personalities more. I hope we get more interactions and backstory with the kids.

Yup, I thought issue 4 was the best one yet, combined with issue 3 we have learned a lot more about the characters. I'm interested to learn who that mysterious person from the last 2 pages is

This question has some SPOILERS, but for those reading it, is the Indian Shaman who healed Grant still alive and with the crew? I think he was drawn into one panel, but I wasn't sure. Anyone have ideas?

Anyone have ideas? From what I remember after the dimension jump on the following page the woman with Grant (don't remember her name) said that the shaman saved him but was reluctant until he saw Grant's kids crying over his body. That was the last mention of him, so I guess we don't really know for sure, but he did make the jump.

It'd be a shame to be done with that dimension completely.

I want a Shawn-centric issue.

this book is right up there with Saga, East of West, The Wake, and Hawkeye for me as just about the best ongoing series in the 'verse. It's absolutely riveting, and just hits so, so many sweet-spots for me. Long may it continue.

#5 is fantastic. Glad Bobby mentioned it on the pod as I was wondering if any of our casters were still reading. It's all spreading out concept-wise.
*SPOILER BELOW*
Can't wait to see what Monkey-related madness awaits us next issue...

I love this comic! Art is great and writing is terrific! Remender is on such a tear! I can't wait for Low! The only problem I have with Black Science is that I have yet to really care about any characters. I like some of them, but definitely don't love them yet.

Only because they're kids not because I like their personality. Shawn? I like him, but I wouldn't feel much if he died.

I've continued to enjoy this series. But I agree with some comments above that the art, atmosphere, and settings are stronger than some of the characters. My hope is that overtime I'll care more about Grant and some of the other characters, but so far it feels as if the kids are not yet fully developed and are meant as the one reason we still root for Grant over his seemingly evil boss. Although, Issue 5 made some improvements by seeing Grant risking his life for his kids and showing some remorse for not exactly being father of the year. I have Issue 6 but haven't read it yet, but I'm excited to learn more about the new dimension.
