So after listening to todays podcast I got inspired to unleash my excitement for the master chief collection coming out for the xbox one in a few weeks.
Having played the series from it's original release I can say this collection is well worth the price tag. Also the fact I spent an unhealthy amount of time doing co-op and multiplayer throughout my teenage years. I'm finally ready to tackle it all over again!
I can't wait to play through all 4 campaigns on legendary (4000 gamerscore!!!!) and get back into competitive multiplayer.
If anyone is planning on picking it up feel free to add me to XBL! Most of the people I played it with have quit gaming or have yet to upgrade so I'm a lone wolf on launch day haha.
Feel free to discuss!!

I think my feelings on the game are well known now. I. Am. Excite. I'm all over this game. I'm getting the Sunset Overdrive bundle (and I'm excited to play it), but it was really the Master Chief Collection that was the driver. There's no way I'm missing this game... and what a deal? This collection puts other collections (excluding the Orange Box) to shame. 4 amazing games and all the multiplayer maps? Such a deal. What has me most excited... Halo 2! Remastered! I honestly think most people have forgotten how good this game was. That first mission, where you go outside the ship with that massive MAC gun firing? It's incredible! Or the one Arbiter level where you cut the cables suspending that space station and it start plummeting into the atmosphere? Awesome. Some of the best FPS campaign maps ever in that game. I'm basically going from Destiny to Sunset Overdrive to Halo.... I really want to play Shadow of Mordor but I don't see it carving into my game time.

My plan is to buy call of duty when it comes out the week before and finish the campaign/get my fill of the multiplayer and then trade it in and pay the difference to get this game a week later.
Muahaha

Muahaha Yeah, I feel like I can skip CoD for a while. Will probably get it eventually, but I doubt I'd want to play that over Halo, so I might as well wait until it drops in price. Plus, while I'm optimistic that Advanced Warfare will revitalize my interest in the series (really burnt out on them since Black Ops 1), I've never been a huge fan and would like to see what other skeptics say... especially others that have been burnt out on the series like I have.

I mean they can't really change the game enough to make anything feel new. I used to prestige and commit time to the game but it's literally the same grind everytime with little to no pay off at all. I think I will be done with it in a week, if it still has my attention I may just keep it. But either way it will be on the shelf the day Halo comes out haha

anyone pick this up today? I pre-ordered but have been addicted to the exo missions on CoD so I haven't went to pick it up yet.

So, I woke up at 4:30 to play some before work. I pre-ordered the digital copy and always keep my Xbox on the "quick startup" mode so I was expecting it to download the final 15GB "update" way before the game unlocked. Not the case, for some reason, so it had to do that. So, that plan failed (instead, I played Sunset Overdrive).
Last night I didn't have much time but did play through the first mission of Halo 2. Initial impressions:
- It almost feels a little weird running at 60FPS. Don't think a Halo game has ever run that smooth. It just felt off... that feeling went away quick and damn, the action, is as tight as ever... especially at that higher frame rate. The new gun sounds are excellent as well.
- The cutscenes are ridiculously good. The detail on the faces is remarkable. I could watch a movie with this quality, easily. I heard the scene with Gravemind is immensely better than in the original, so I'm anxious to see that.
- There's some extra footage in the game that delve a little deeper into the story and will have some tie-ins with Halo 5... That's fun to watch.
- The UI before you jump into the game is well laid out. Easy to use and makes logical sense. They did a good job with that. Everything is easily accessible.
Anyway, can't wait to play some more tonight. I'll be able to get a couple hours in. Still have the urge to play some Sunset, so I'll be splitting time. Destiny is a game I'm still not done with, but the interest has faded a little with these two gems in the forefront.

playing through the 1st campaign right now, and man does it feel weird. The gameplay is so smooth, and it looks so good with the graphical upgrades.
i saw they're having issues with multiplayer and servers disconnecting so I'm going to wait a day or two for an update.
so far so good! I like how the game installs each campaign so I could jump in right away.

I just want to let y'all know that the patch is up. It increased speeds dramatically for me, but I am still getting stuck in the matchmaking lobby quite a lot and having to reset the game entirely.

How is matchmaking these days? I am kind of jonesing for some Halo but I am morally opposed to buying a broken game.

Thanks for the heads up. I went crazy with the XBLA black Friday sale and picked up a bunch of deals that should keep me sated until Halo is returned to its former glory
