"Cap", Glad to be of help! I've heard that if a run isn't on the Marvel Unlimited app, you can request it for future inclusion? If so, that's a great feature! From my perspective as a Knicks fan since the Willis Reed/Walt Frazier days, it has been more than a couple of years since things were good around the Garden! Once Jeff Van Gundy left, the only moment I really felt the organization had a vision was the half-season that Don Nelson was in charge! As to the Nets, I have no animosity, as I was a fan when they played on Long island in the Sixties and Seventies, back in the ABA days of Rick Barry and Dr. J.! As a matter of fact, my first pro basketball game was the ABA's New York Nets vs. the Minnesota Pipers and their star player who became my favorite, the original Michael Jordan/Julius Erving style high-flier "The Hawk", Connie Hawkins! What amazes me is that the Knicks still rate as the most valuable team in the NBA, in spite of Dolan's haphazard handling of the franchise. As a Philly sports fan, it has not been a pretty season for my Sixers, but I'm hoping with (likely) two lottery picks in this stacked draft class, we're only a couple years away from contending and restarting the fo' fo' fo' era!

I rooted for the Sixers all through the Julius Erving era, and clear into the Charles Barkley, to be frank! I still have a Sixers jacket that gets pulled out every now-and-again! James Dolan is a buffoon, and that we lost Donnie Walsh to Dolan's interfering ways is criminal. Mr. Walsh had built an interesting young team around A'mare Stoudemire, but was forced to break it up to acquire Carmelo Anthony; a fine player, a GREAT scorer, but now we don't have a strong enough supporting cast, we play basketball that's hard to watch if you were a fan of the Red Holzman Knicks, and we don't have any of those draft picks that you boys have in order to move forward!

Yeah, the Dr. J, Moses Malone, and Charles Barkley era made for great basketball. I'm 30, and so I grew up during the Allen Iverson era, which was pretty entertaining. When we won game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals, I thought we had a chance, but it was not to be. I loved the 90s-era Knicks under Jeff Van Gundy. The tough as nails team seemed to represent the city. Did you know that Brook Lopez on the Nets is a huge comic book fan? I think he listed Nightcrawler as his favorite Marvel character, pretty good taste. Will you be watching the Super Bowl today Bob? Who are you rooting for?

Who are you rooting for? I don't think that the 82-83 Sixers get nearly enough acclaim for being one of the greatest teams of all time!! They certainly would have won 70 games, but Billy C. took to resting his stars down the stretch, because his focus was on the championship. They played great defense across their entire roster, a dynamic and balanced offense, and the indominatable Moses Malone! To my mind, there's no way that any of the Jordan Bulls teams beats the Malone/Erving Sixers in a seven-game series! The Riley/Van Gundy Knicks were taken to heart by all of New York for just that reason! Charles Oakley, John Starks and local playground legend Anthony Mason really exemplified NYC basketball--as opposed to the product we put out there now! Sadly, once again this season Brook Lopez will have lots of time to catch up on his reading; I like his game a lot, but he can't stay healthy. I just want to see a good, competitive game! I guess I'm rooting for Peyton to win a second, as he seems to be one of the game's "good guys", but being an long-time Giants fan back to the Sam Huff days, I love great defense! If I was handicapping, I'd say: Seattle 23, Denver 20!

I appreciate the love for those early 80s Sixers teams, hugely entertaining! I think Moses Malone is one of the more underrated NBA stars. Someone just mentioned on the Buys/Deals thread that Comixology has a one-day sale on the first 14 issues of Captain Marvel. I already have the print copies, but will likely get these to show support and to reread the series on my tablet. I'm definitely excited for Ms. Marvel too and hope your prediction is coming true in regard to the industry publishing more books with quality, diverse characters and creators.

"W",
Defense wins championships...unless you're the Seventies' Minnesota Vikings!!
What a terrible game, and the commercials weren't so hot either! Arnie was OK, the "Full House" reunion the same, but otherwise very forgettable!
Moses, Doc, Mo Cheeks, Andrew "The Boston Strangler" Toney, Bobby Jones, Clint Richardson, Earl "The Twirl" Cureton... a great "Team" of role players combined to contest for a single goal in a way that you don't see much of any more!
I just saw some interesting stats about Comixology! (I'm probably spoiling this week's show!) Six years ago, the female readership on Comixology was under 5%, and it's now over 20%; they are demographically between 17 and 26, college educated, and more than not, have never bought a print comic!
To quote Bob Dylan: "The times they are a'changing"!!

That game last night was a richness of embarrassment. That is a great line--Oscar Wilde couldn't have said it better! The LI members of Talking Comics were all together watching this debacle, and despite copious amounts of adult beverages, it was not a thrilling game to watch!

So given how disappointing the Super Bowl was, Bob, what would you rate as some of the best sporting events you've seen live or on TV? For me, other than watching the Phillies win the 2008 world series, I saw a Duke-UNC Basketball game live a couple years ago that was pretty incredible (where Austin Rivers hit the 3 at the end to win the game).

I came across this 10 issue mini series from Image last night and thought you might want to check this out Bob. It's called Tellos and it was created by Todd Dezago and Mike Wieringo back in 1999-2000. I read the entire series in one sitting and was pleasantly surprised.

"W", There are just too many, and most of the great ones were from the comfort of the couch! Watching the NY Giants beat the Broncos for their first Super Bowl after the 1986 season; most importantly it was with my Dad, who hadn't seen them win a title since 1956! Willis Reed limping out for Game 7 against Wilt Chamberlain and the Lakers in 1970 Being at MSG in the '92 playoffs when the Knicks beat the Bulls and Michael Jordan to force a seventh game; the crazypositive energy continued as the crowd spilled out onto 7th Avenue, and for blocks around! Being at Shea Stadium in August of 1965 and seeing Willie Mays hit his 17th homer of the month to set an NL record; frankly just getting to see Willie play at any time was a great thrill, but particularly in person! But beyond all the legendary players I got to see play live in so many sports, my favorite sports memory is this two-parter. My Dad had sort of lost interest in basketball, but I drew him back in via the play of Julius Erving with the Nets. We followed him through their two ABA championships, and then the many "We owe you one" years with the Sixers, until the championship in 82-83. Just after my Dad passed away, Julius was appearing in NYC to sign copies of the Basketball Encyclopedia, but I was unable to get there. Two friends of mine went in, and despite being told by the event handler that Julius wouldn't personalize an autograph, they told him the story of my Dad and me, and he did it anyway. I wrote a "Thank You" letter to Julius through NBC, and assumed that was it, as I didn't hear back. Flash forward a few years, and there was a minor league basketball team here called the Long Island Sound, and they were having an "ABA Reunion" at one of their games as a benefit to raise money for "Super" John Williamson, who had major health issues. His Nets teammate Julius Erving was going to be there, so I brought along a 1975-76 Nets Yearbook, hoping to say thanks and grab an autograph. At the event, they announced that Julius wouldn't be signing, as he had only minutes to be there as he was off to cover something for NBC, at which point he said that he still wanted to make sure that he was there for John. As he was leaving, I ran outside, and as he headed to his limo, I approached him and related the story about my Dad, the signing of my Encyclopedia, and my subsequent letter; with genuine emotion, he said he remembered the "two crazy girls" and then shook my hand, looked through and then signed my yearbook! Hope I didn't get too weepy there!

College football wise I think the greatest games I've ever seen were USC vs Texas in the 2005 BCS game and USC vs Notre Dame, which I believe was the same year. This is coming from a born and bred Alabama fan as well lol.
