Had these on my tablet for months and finally decided to crack open #1 last night and burned through to #6 in one sitting! It really didn't seem like a title I'd be interested and only picked it up each month due to the constant praise from the podcast but damn am I glad I did! Such great characters with interesting back stories and interactions. Hopefully the draw of Damien helps cement sales and it's longevity.

I'm in the same boat as a lot of people. When this book came out I didn't bother picking it up as I just didn't think it was for me, however after hearing such great reviews from different sources I decided to pick up the first trade and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It's a fun book that is building this great and relatable mythos with each character. The series has now been added to my pull list.

Marco & "J",
I believe that a lot of folks feel as you do, both in their initial reluctance and subsequent enjoyment!
Although I'm sure that the digital and trade sales will help support this deserving all-ages title, I'm glad that you shared your "re-hab" stories, as those testimonies can only help to grab some new readers, for the physical sales are not strong!
Thanks!

I was initially not going to buy it until I heard them talk about it on the DCR Podcast and found out it was not about young Bruce Wayne. I don't know why I thought they would go that direction but I did and have bought every issue since, but I buy all my comics digitally so I do not know how much it helps with saving the comics low numbers.

I really love Gotham Academy but I am NOT loving this Yearbook "arc". I'm guessing we're going to get a full volume of it too. I enjoyed the Endgame spin-off that was short stories but that one had a stronger theme and felt more coherent. Two issues into Yearbook and I've not come across a single tale that has entertained me or made any particular sense. Is it just me "not getting it or do any other Gotham Academics feel the same?
I'm assuming its being done to give the creative team time to get ahead as the quality of work is usually so high I guess it can be time consuming.

Well Karl Kerschl is not the regular penciller anymore. So I figured we were getting these artists and storyline while they figured things out. There are a lot of rumors about big DC changes so I guess we will have to wait and see. I love Gotham Academy and hope to see it continue.

There are some AMAZING people working on the vignettes but the stories just haven't been all that good. They really don't seem to enrich our knowledge of the characters or the school very much. The first Yearbook issue was okay but I was really disappointed with the second one. Here's hoping it is just a blip and the quality returns soon. And hurray for Gotham Academy: Next Semester being included in the Rebirth news. Hopefully the original creative team stays on board.
